| where do you purchase your topical flea/tick prevention? i've noticed the prices for frontline/k9 advantix and other topical flea/tick prevention really varies. the vet seems like a total rip off. the online sites vary in price and shipping charges. where do you purchase your flea/tick topical prevention and which one do you choose??? |

| I get mine from e-Bay. We live in a small town and the vet's office is about the only place to buy flea and tick prevention meds. We also have an Alco store but they only carry Hartz. So for me e-Bay is where I turn.

| I actually get my at the vet's office, and it's cheaper than I saw online and in the petstore. I love my vet.

| Frontline for Oscar was $40 for 3 months at the vet's office and I found it for a couple of dollars cheaper at the local farm coop. I will check ebay tho...might be a better deal there.

| I've bought mine from Petmeds.com (I think that is what it's called) It has been much cheaper than buying from my vet too. They call the vet to get a RX for heartworm pills too and it is very convenient they ship it to my home and remind me when it is time to reorder. |

YT 3000 Club Member | Try petshed it is so muc cheaper, I use revolution and it is 56 or 58 dollars for 6 months and just add 5 dollars for shipping. The vet office is 15 for one dose, that is a big difference. |

I know so many dogs have reactions to pet store products, I would advise against it. Just my two cents.

| I used a Hartz's brand topical flea prevention once for one of my dogs and she had a skin reaction that was terrible. She was misreable, she was itching and rolling around and totally beside herself from being so uncomfortable from it. The vet said they are just too strong for little dogs. She said the strength isn't any different than that used on large dogs just less volume. I will never use one of those again. I use Frontline now and I have also used Revolution. Both have been fine. |
