I used a Hartz's brand topical flea prevention once for one of my dogs and she had a skin reaction that was terrible. She was misreable, she was itching and rolling around and totally beside herself from being so uncomfortable from it. The vet said they are just too strong for little dogs. She said the strength isn't any different than that used on large dogs just less volume. I will never use one of those again. I use Frontline now and I have also used Revolution. Both have been fine.
