| Kari-Pet vs. Dog Gone Carrier I would like to buy a dog carrier for my yorkie so I can take him bike riding with me in the summer. I also want one that can be used as a car set. So I did a search on YT and found 2 websites that have what I want. One is a front carrier called Kari-Pet and the other is the backpack type called Dog-Gone carrier. I like both of them but since I have never used them before I don't know which to get. If anyone has one of these please tell me what you feel about it. Is it better to have a front carrier or a backpack? Is your Yorkie comfortable in it? How long did it take you to train them to stay in it? Is it easy to ride a bike with it? Here are the links: Kari-Pet: http://www.stubbytails.com/index.htm Dog-Gone Carrier: http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.h...2-00b0d0204ae5 |

| IDK either way there is a way for your baby to get hurt if you happen to fall...But by looking at it.. I would say the back pack one BC then her leg and etc wont be in your way when you are ridding your bike... |

| I have a few of the Kari-Pet carriers and all of the dogs that have ever been put in them LOVE them! They just hang around! You adjust how high up the little one hangs, so their feet and legs shouldn't get in your way...and I would like to see their little faces. I love my Kari-Pet carriers!

| I am a pretty good bike rider so I don't think I will fall. However, it probably would be better if he was in the front so I can keep an eye on him. Alpayton, is it hard to ride the bike with the dog on you? |

| Not really hard. Course, all my dogs are less than 6 or so lbs.

| I have the doggone carrier for Edie. She loves it. I know it is comfortable for her, and she cannot climb out because she is harnessed inside. I recommend it. It did not take any training time for her to get used to it. We have used it for bike riding, x-country skiing, and just walking around town. I think it would be much easier to ride with a Yorkie on your back than in front, but that is my opinion. I have not used it for a carseat, but it should work fine. |

| I have a front carrier- by another maker. I found that I want my baby in front so I can talk to her- if she rides in back- I might as well go alone!( I am not sure how comfortable they feel in these as it is rather restrictive for them in the same position for long periods- I have a cloth sherpa that we use in the car- I can put one handle over the head rest-the other handle I hook with an S hook to the hand hold on the door- that way she is high enough to look out the window ) Then I was worried about if I fell- so I got a basket and a small rigid cloth carrier( petsmart-it folds like a tent) to put in the bastet-so if I ever had a accident - she could vertually fly through the air , land and not get hurt! What a concept! My Sasha is only 4.5 lbs so this may or may not work for you. Just some thoughts! Sandy & Sasha

| Sandy, do you have something like this: http://petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?R...amilyID=12639& It is a dog bicycle seat. I was thinking of getting this too because I wouldn't want him to get hurt if I fall and since he is 7 pounds he might be kind of heavy to carry. I am still debating what to get. |

| No - I have a regular bicycle basket- and I bought the carrier to put in it. Carrier is of nylon- and is like a little rectangle box- with windows and openings- and rigid rounded corners - meant for travel- reminds you of a tent. The one in the picture also looks nice- never saw one like that. I know Sasha was suffering from the sun- when I just put her in the basket- at least the carrier has a roof- it gets pretty hot here in Denver. So remember whatever you get- your puppy will need some kind of sunshade! Good luck!

| I bought Buckeye the kari pet . He loved it. I loved it and got many many nice remarks when I carried him around on vacation. He loved going into the home depot and looking around. just make sure you got them square in it so it doesnt hurt the tail. the vet even had a comment about how handy it was. great for clipping nails too.

| Well I was in Petco last night and I saw the PetPocket so I picked that up. Does anyone else have this? I put my puppy inside and he loves it. I can't wait until the weather gets warmer so I can go bike riding with him. |
