![]() I was wondering, how does your baby behave in his/her purse/carrier when you are out and about? Do accidents occur often? Does your baby fuss a lot or does your baby sit quietly? I'm wondering when I should introduce Frankie to his new purse. It has a removable/washable bottom, but I would hate to get it too soiled, since it was a gift. Thanks in advance!

![]() Introduce it to him ASAP, even if you're not going anywhere. Tote him around the house in short spurts. I taught Otis the phrase "get in your bag" when he was really small using treats. Keep saying the phrase as you put him in, and then give him a treat AFTER he's in. Then take him out, repeat the process. He'll start relating the fact that he'll get a treat everytime he hears the phrase. He'll recognize the phrase and jump in automatically.

![]() My baby loves his he usually falls asleep in it but he also sleeps in his crate at night. I have never had to give him treats. Is your puppy pee pad trained or does he go outdoors? Mine has never had any accidents but usually when we get to where we are going we put a pad down for him to go on. Anyways good luck!!

![]() That's encouraging to hear. Frankie is in his crate during the night and when he can't be supervised during the day. He goes potty on in a "litterbox" lined with paper in our bathroom. I'll try your guys' suggestions. Thanks!

![]() I posted something on this the other day, I can't even get Beau to get in his carrier (purse). He won't even poke his head into it even if there is a treat on the bottom. I think I waited too long to introduce him to one, he'll be 18 weeks Sunday, I probably should have bought the purse carrier 6 weeks ago, he may have been more open to it. We keep trying though.

![]() ^^Sorry about the double post. I did a search, but didn't find it in the results. I tried some of you guys' suggestions with Frankie and his carrier today. He inspected it after I put it on the ground and even jumped inside. Then, he let me walk him around the house a few times. I put a t-shirt inside to protect it. He poked his head out and seemed amused. Junebug- thanks for the great tip. I'm going to make it part of our behavior training daily!

![]() Today, Frankie and I mastered the command of "get in your purse!" He loved it so much that he kept hopping into and waiting for a treat even when he wasn't asked to! Feeling confident, his Daddy and I took him out in the carrier with us for a short trip to the store. Our carrier has a short leash to attach to his collar. He kept fidgeting, trying to hop out, and whined while we were at the store. =( I guess we'll have to keep practicing!!!

| ![]() Chelsey loves anything that looks like a purse, she ll try and get into the smallest purse as long as she can go with us lol... as soon as she sees me take one shes ready to go, its too cute, i didnt teach her with treats also coz that never crossed my mind, but i guess going with us is her treat ![]() she has never soiled the purse, but i do stop for pee breaks or take her out on arrival to go potty. We dont get those fancy purses here in Holland so on ocasions i put her in my own handbag that closes with a zip on the top, she ll sit in there with her head sticking out, sometimes ppl still come up to me and ask if its a real dog, i have so much fun with her ![]()
