				 | Kong Treats? Sebastian got a puppy Kong from the Easter bunny and I was just wondering what kind of treats do you use with yours? I put half of a puppy biscuit in it but I had to crush it in order for him to get it out. |

				 | I rub creamy peanut butter in it, just a tad. Schatzie goes nuts rolling it across the floor trying to lick the food out. They make a can of oozy paste to for dogs you can squirt inside the Kong. The squirtable cheese in a can works wonders and keeps em busy too...

				 | I put the handle end of a spoon or fork in the peanut and grab about a tsp and put the peanut butter inside the kong and then pop in it the freezer over night. When I leave the next am for work I give them their treat. They love it and don't mind when I leave as long as they get their kong. Freezing it keeps it from being too messy and it take them longer to lick it out. Sometime I shove a very small dog biscuit in the end as well.

				 | You can also freeze yogurt inside for a tasty treat. |

				 | The idea is to keep them occupied so breaking a treat up so puppy can get it might defeat the purpose of keeping them trying to get at the treat...Peanut butter in the smallest end is a good treat. Freezing it sounds like a great idea. A little cream cheese in the tiny end also works... When I have nothing else, I put some nutri-stat in the tiny end.. |

Question: Do you just take it out the freezer and give it to your baby or do you let it thaw out some? My Dolce is 2 months... | |

				 | I give it to mine straight from the freezer. Think how great it would feel for a teething puppy. They love it! If I don't freeze it the seem to polish the peanut butter off too quick so this makes the treat last longer...or at least they have to work harder for the treat and entertains them a little longer. Another great thing I like about Kongs is that you can pop them in the dishwasher & get them nice and clean, I do run mine thru the dishwasher a couple of times a week! Normally they are excited and run to the their spot on the sofa and wait for me to leave each morning. If it's been hectic and I forgot to fix them a kong the night before you should see the look of dissapointment when on that rare morning they don't get a kong.

				 | This really doesnt have much to do with what to put in kongs but rather on how to get the rubber taste from the kong. Gracie wouldnt touch hers and I was told it was because of the rubber smell and taste so you are suppose to either put them in a dishwasher or boil them to get the smell off them.

				 | I got Beau a Puppy Kong last night, it's blue and white swirl. I was so anxious to get it home thinking he would love it. I put some peanut butter inside, he licked the peanut butter out and then wouldn't touch the Kong. I showed him (yes I'm down on the floor holding the kong between my front hands like he would do and made smacking noises as if I was chewing on the kong), so he grabbed it and started chewing on it and I thought yippee, he loves it. That lasted about 1 minute. I think my 4 month old (yesterday) has a very short attention span. I wonder if it is the rubber smell that makes it unappealing? I'm also thinking the peanut butter or maybe the banana I gave him last night upset his stomach (would peanut butter upset his stomach). As his stools have been lose since last night, which is not normal for him. |

				 | It's a kong but it's made for dogs from 2 - 9 months. They called it a puppy kong. I got it at Petco next to the other kongs. |

				 | I got the puppy combo kit and it was only $8.99. Priced seperately this would sell for about $14.00. I got it from Petland. |

				 | Kong Hi Everyone, I've been enjoying getting to know all of you through this chat forum. As a new Yorkie mommy, there's so much I have to learn. My baby came from a fantastic breeder in Grand Prairie Tx. He took his first plane ride at the tender age of 11 weeks. He's been with me for almost a month now and he is my joy. I'd thought I'd bought out the puppy stores, and although I'd seen a Kong, I had no idea what it is. Can someone please share with me the significance ot it? Is it a training tool , entertainment, ?? To show you how novice I am, I purchased one and I gave it to him without any treat in it. In reading all of the replies here, it's no wonder that he looked at me as if I'd lost my mind and walked away. I tried giving it to him again, he batted it around a few times, then walked away. Any additional 'must have' info anyone can share with me or this or anything Yorkie wise would be greatly appreciated. Rose |
