(Not that I fantisize over yorkie babies and act like I could afford another one! ) But today when I was browsing on newdaypets.com there was some wierd stuff. Like this one yorkie had a really wide nose, and do pups born from non champion blood lines really go for $4000 ?? And is it really okay to ship out a dog that weighs under 2#,and is there such thing as an "Exotic Gold Teacup"??-NO! Some of these people , I tell you...

WOW! That $4000 yorkie is 1 lbs at 8 weeks so he is still very very young and has a lot more growing to do, I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up a normal size yorkie. I cant believe that breeder is trying to label him as a "Teacup" just to rip people off! I really dont like that word becuase of people like this breeder.
Its sad that someone would take advantage of people

Im so glad I have yorkietalk to educate me, I didnt realize that some bad breeders did this kind of thing until I came on here.

I just went back for more! ERRRR. These people. How do you tell who is really legit anymore? I wouldn't trust any of these people. And there are people here saying that their 8 week old babies are going to weigh 2.2 #'s at adult size...How would they know at 8 weeks? And then one hit seems to be "tiny babies...mother only 3lbs!" Like that is something to brag about? They might as well say 'we could care less about these animals, all we want is your money!" (okay disclaimer...no big fights about mommies under 5lbs here Everyone knows where everyone stands! ) This site is getting me heated!!

:: Deeeeep breath! And let it go...::

Angry In Defense!!!!

The exotic gold puppy is from an extremely reputable breeder. Actually, she is my breeder! She is very willing to give any information that you ask for, and she will help you in any way possible. She really adores her puppies, and treats them as babies! Ours developed kennel cough over a month AFTER we got him home, and she sent us medicine and a nebulizer to treat him with free of charge! She will not ship a puppy until she and her vet feel that the puppy can make the trip without any possible problems! It really pisses me off when people bash the reputable breeders, and then uphold the ones that breed their mothers every six months and don't care about the puppies that they do raise!!!!

There were no bad remarks to the breeder at all. There was just a general comment that certain areas of OK is known for puppymills, which is very true.

I think if you go back and read the post you will see that nothing bad was said about your breeder where you adopted your fur baby from. It sounds as if your breeder was very generous and thoughtful helping your little one get over kennel cough. I hope he is feeling better too.

Do People really pay such high prices for a dog that is NOT a champion bred dog? That just seems outragious! I paid 400 for my little guy and I thought that was alot, but well worth it! I see people are selling muts for $200+ these days. These pups i feel sorry for.

Animal Smiley 019 Rare Chocolates and Teacups

In my search for my 'lil SugarDaddy, I searched website after website. I read books and studied up on the breed standard. This is what I've learned. First, and foremost, there is NO SUCH THING AS A TEACUP. The standard says "under 7 lbs". According to AKC and other yorkie registration clubs, it is merely a term used by breeders to get more money out of unsuspecting adoptive parents. It also said to look at the parents, it stated that most reputable breeders will breed larger females with a smaller male. Doing so should reduce the likelyhood of complications and c-sections. As for the "rare chocolate", it is considered a mutation. The dogs are cute, but you CANNOT show them. It's INSANE to spend outrageous amounts on puppies without champion bloodlines or that, due to "mutation" are unable to be shown in the first place.

One would think, if someone were breeding puppies they thought were worth the big bucks, they'd be showing their dogs and winning championships. Not that it means a champion is a healthy dog. As for the yorkie adoptive process, there are a lot of unreputable breeders, puppy millers, and scammers. Not to mention the flood of backyard breeders who don't learn about the genetics and other complicated matters of responsible breeding. Mid-way through my search, I just quit looking at breeders if they even advertised teacups. As a professional breeder, they know there is NO SUCH THING... especially if they jacked the price up for it. Granted, there are some healthy itty bitty babies, but there are FAR MORE that have a lot of health problems. Not only do you end up paying a rediculous amount for them, but you also have to dish out tons of money just to keep the little guys alive.

Honestly, how many of you would have given your baby back to the breeder for a refund or, most often, a new puppy if you discovered a serious health problem??? I've had SugarDaddy since Sunday afternoon, and there is NO WAY I'm giving up my SugarDaddy!!!

Don't mean to offend anyone by this, it is merely my opinions and conclusions after many hours of research.

Animal Smiley 019 Puppy prices

Oh, let's not forget the folks asking almost a grand for unregisterable dogs. You have no way of knowing if it is a purebred or not, and for that kind of money, it darn well better be! Generally they charge $750 - $900, and they come with NODDA. No warrantee or health guarantee, no "papers", no travel crate or cert of health.

Thought it was kinda fishy.

WOW.....it amazes me how some people get so heated over a comment they misread on this site.....sometimes I debate about even coming here anymore b/c of that. Thorsmomma, I see what you're saying. It's outrageous how hard it is now to find good breeders when there are some like that out there. It takes so much work and work and more work to find the good ones!

Default prices

When I was searching the internet and all kinds of ads for my girst yorkie, I saw thm all the way up to 8,000. I guess there are some people to whom money is no object. Bottom line on prices is that the breeders can ask anything they want for them and usually get it. I know my husband can sell a dog for six thousand dollars as easy as he can sell a two hundred dollar pup. Just depends on what people want and what they are willing to pay. Heck, I felt very forutnate to have found Ceeby for 850. and my little girl for 800. Silk, with her champion bloodlines (If I can ever find them LOl) was a steal at five hundred even if she was "retired".

Okay... I tried to check out the links today, and the first two didn't go through. The third one was advertising an "exotic Blue" yorkie, so evidently it changed from the gold one. (maybe the gold one sold). I hope they were talking about a blue and gold one and not a "blue-born" one, as from what I've heard the blue-borns aren't healthy. I didn't think that the "blue and gold" were rare and exotic? At the bottom of the listing it said the puppy was "show" potential. Price was over $3,000. Just makes you wonder... hmmmmmm???

I think I am miss reading this link to the exotic golden pop... yes she changed the page to a exotic blue... with "show potential." that pup looks chocolate! And am I wrong to assume that chocolate yorkies are deemed as mutations and not able to show? Something that I read back on Lovinmyyorkie post. This is confusing! Can anyone clarify this? Here is the link again. http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory...6d13-83b1.aspx
