Been thinking about getting some myself. Are these the ones that are made of plastic?

Yes, those are the snap together plastic ones with the cover. They are really nice - but it does hurt a bit if you stub your toe on them

Watch out for those stubbed toes!I stubbed my toe Sept1,while letting my yorkie out to go potty at midnight got back in bed and thought that really hurt.Finally turned on the light and my baby toe was now in a L position and turned around backwords. I've hard 2 cortisone injections and still cant wear my old shoes.Now I have to get surgery to get the bone removed On Feb 22.All because of of stubbed toe on a hope chest at the foot of the bed .I'm ordering those soft steps immediately.Thanks for the info!

HSN has doggy steps too. The four step plastic ones are great.

OUCH!!! Your toe story gave me goose bumps!!!

I will say that the plastic steps on which you can stub your toes are very light and even though it will hurt a bit, unless the steps can't move becasue they are wedged against something, they will scoot when you kick them. I don't think you could break your toe on them - unless of course as I said, they are wedged against something and couldn't scoot.
