Help regarding flea medications.

thank you for the info on the flea treats because i cannot remember to spray them down everyday and so this is the perfect alternative for an effective natural remedy. just ordered my fleatreats...sounds so funny to say no one thinks fleas are a treat!! haha. ill let you know how it works for us. thanks again.

Cool! I hope they work as well for you as they have for me. It does take a little while for them to start working. Maybe three weeks or so? I just love the fact that they are safe, no side effects and the dogs think they're getting a

this is for abbie well it's been about a week now and I can't believe I'm saying this but I think the peppermint solution worked!!!!! I have been checking my Bella everyday now and I have not found a flea on her yet! I see her scratch once in a while and I check her right away but I don't see any fleas! It just amazes me that that something so simple as peppermint can get rid of fleas I've tried so many expansive things and nothing had worked, not only that she smells so good and it leaves her coat really shiny. I will be looking into the treats and any other natrual remedies I'm a true beliver thanks again

Well, I've gone through one bottle of 100, and started on a 250cnt. I'm beginning to think the flease LOVE them!! Granted, we have the worst flea problem I've ever seen in the state, because of no winter. But...<gheeez!> I also purchased and used the Evolve spray on the babies, and treated the yard and house. Looks like we must take more drastic measure.

Due to the fact that we really didn't have a "winter" this year fleas are rampant in our area. Our yard is treated but we live in a somewhat rural area with people that have hunting dogs that live outside. They don't all treat their animals like we do. My furbutts can be flea free but every time we come back from a long walk or play at the park they bring a flea or 2 home. It drives me crazy!!!! I miss living in the city where people seemed to take better care of their pets.

Well, after a while fleas became immune i believe.
Seems the fleas are loving the stuff instead of going away =(

Sorry to hear they are so bad for you this year, Ada. I was surprised the evolve hasn't worked for you. I used Eco-treat on my yard, and the evolve on the kiddos and we haven't had any bug bites yet and our winter was non existenet too. We aren't even getting bitten by the mosqutios either, I love this stuff! Hope you can find something that works for your babies!

Thanks, MK. Well, the Evolv works to kill the fleas, when (as the label says) it comes in direct contact; but, I've yet to see any repelling of them. So, I've decided not to use it anymore, as the lemon grass is making me nauseous, and the girls hate it, too. I am going to try another natural product (along with the Flea Treats lol), and we'll continue to treat the yard and house. The rain continues here; so dh has not treated outside for a couple of weeks. I am also bathing the girls every two to three days. They may be bald, soon. I like the peppermint spray idea; but, that does not kill puppa and larvae.

Will report any success.

I have had several furkids over my lifetime and whenever we see a flea I use "Pert". I took in a stray cat, wicked loaded with fleas. We shampood her and found a handfull floating in the bathwater. For some reason this stuff works like nitro on fleas. The fleas just fall off. Our great dane never has fleas or any skin reaction either, so when our new yorkie came with fleas (free with purchase) we dipped (washed) her right away lol, she's flea free and no skin problem has been noticed. Our momma cat (indoor/outdoor) gets dipped when/if we see any on her and her baby kittens will as well if necessary. We've also put a squeeze or two in a sprayer that attaches to the hose and sprayed the yard but that only happened once when we had several animals over at one time (doggie party). Also a tiny amount in your carpet cleaner doesn't hurt either. Usually all of the fleas get knocked out on the first wash but fleas will hide near the eyes & nose to get away from the pert so take your time and you shouldn't have a problem. If anyone else has tried this shampoo let me know how it worked for you, people think I'm crazy cause of the ph blah blah blah but I've never had a problem and we don't have fleas. lol

put this in a spray bottle...

it will NOT make them greasy...matter of fact..it makes their hair very soft and they smell good! This mixture helps to repel fleas AND ticks!

edited to say:.....this mixture does not separate like water and oil....it will mix together...I do shake it though before I spray it...and DON'T spray directly on your dog....OH! My Mom soaks her dogs harness in the mixture and lets it dry before putting it on her...I am going to try this too!
