				   | I am about to have to go back to work so we've ordered an exercise pen for Chloe to stay in during the day so that she's not "cooped up" in her smaller crate. Chloe tends to play in her water bowl anytime I try to put it in her crate with her or in her play pen, though she leaves it alone any other time. So to avoid messes, I was thinking about getting one of those water bottles like you use for hamsters or gerbils and attaching it to the side of the new ex-pen. Have any of you ever used one? Is there a brand you would recommend? While reading reviews, I've mostly come across complaints that the bottles leak everywhere. If I'm choosing between a mess created by a leaking bottle vs a mess created by Chloe playing in her bowl...I'll save my money and let Chloe enjoy the water. ![]() -C

				   | I bought mine from Jenny (YT member Mimimomo) and my boys love them. No leaking problem with the singles. |

				   | Yep, I use one for my smallest Biewer. He has troubles drinking out of the water dish. He drinks too fast and then has a coughing/reverse sneeze fit. I recommend it, actually. Especially if you keep your dogs beard long. This does prevent the dreaded "wet face" kisses you get after they've had a sip of water out of the bowl.

				   | Baby uses bottles, loves 'em. Bug refuses. I put a little peanut butter on the end of the tube to get them to use it at first and that was it. Once Baby licked the peanut butter off and realized that water would come out, that was it, she was sold. I also have a double header that I got from someone here on YT, unfortunately I cannot remember who. It is pink. It screws onto any bottle but came with one. What is cool about it is that it has a tube that goes inside the xpen and one that sticks outside the xpen so there is access to the water whether they are in or out. Also no leaking on that one. The only bottles that I've found in the stores that work is Lixit, those are at Petsmart and they do not leak.

				   | Oh, I have sooo been in your shoes...my Megan loves to swim or dig or whatever in a bowl of water! The water bottles are great once your pet learns to use them and if leaking becomes a problem you can always cut a washable potty pad down in size, sew around the edges and keep that under the tube. The good news is...she is now 2 1/2 and she has grown out of playing in the water bowl...finally... |

				   | I had the Lixit water bottle, but it leaked. I ended up getting the Edstrom's Water Buddy through Amazon, but I read it's been discontinued. You might find it elsewhere. The bottle uses a lever instead of a metal ball in the drinking tube. Also, it's a top-fill so I don't have to remove it from her crate to fill it. It still leaks some, but not as bad as the Lixit. |

				   | My Lixit is just beginning to leak also and I only have it a few months. They only run about $5-$6 so I just figured I'd replace it.

				   | I have Lixit also but do not really have leaking problem. Every once in a while it leaks a little bit (I was told when temperature changes) but only a few drops so doesn't really bother me. I eventually just put Mocha's unused water bowl under it to catch any dripping. I will continue to use the water bottle since it means no wet mess from dripping beard. BTW, Mocha stays in playpen instead of cage or blocked with gate so there is nowhere to attach water bottle so I just use velcro. |

				   | Can you tell me how you trained Sydney to use the lever instead of the ball? I finally bought this bottle and Mocha cannot seem to figure out how to use it. He kept on trying to lick the bottom like he does the ball. I held the lever for him to show him but he doesn't get it. He loves his poultry toothpaste so I put some in the mouth. He licks them off but still can't figure out how to use the lever. HELP!!! |
