YT 2000 Club Member | Doggy Door DH installed a doggy door for Jasmine and Prissy this evening. They have never used one before. Does anyone here use a doggy door with their little ones and if so any suggestions on getting Jasmine and Prissy acquainted with it. Thanks for your advice in advance. Btw, Prissy is 8 and Jasmine is 1.

| I tried two things first it took two of us one inside and one outside with treats trying to coax Lola out the door; didn't work. Second I took the plastic flap off and just waited till she got nosey enough to go thru the door, finally she did and in a while put the flap back on and it's been the best thing I ever did. I put mine in a 1x12 board and use it as a insert on a sliding patio door; works great. |

| We had one of the sliding glass door insert doggy doors at our old house for our poodle. Just working with treats from the other side a few times got the job done. Man I loved that doggy door!! Can't have it now because we live in the country and there's no telling what critters would come in through the doggy door.

♥ Catherine My Love ♥ Donating Member | Mine LOVE the doggy door! They can go in and out when they want and no one has to let them out. No whining at night. It's awesome. We just had to be sure that everyone could get out on their own and that the step down from the house to the concrete wasn't too far. But, we have 2 cats a lab and Yorkies using the same door.

YT 2000 Club Member | Thank you for all the advice. We taped the flap up and my girls are using their door and loving it and I have to admit, so am I. I will take the advice and lower the flap gradually so they can get used to it slowly. Thanks again. Have a blessed day!

| When we got Bella she was 11 weeks and by 13 weeks she was whipping in and out of the dog door. Watching our cats disappear through that soft spot in the door was just more than she could bear. One night we were watching TV and I kept hearing the dog door over and over. I started watching to see why the cats were going so nuts with the door and realized it was Bella go back and forth
