| Car Seats & Height I was wondering if those of you who own car seats could help me out? I had a purchase a new car the other day, and the new seat fabric is not as favorable for sitting. Unfortunately, for Winston this means he slides around a bit more then I'd like when he rides in the car. Can anyone who owns the pet gear booster seat (or any of the other ones that actually sit on the sit itself) tell me how much height it adds to the sitting position? How much do you like it? I have a pattern for one of the ones that hang off the seat itself (and the fabric to sew it) I just never get around to it. I'm starting to think that if the booster seats will add a somewhat decent amount of height I might just buy one of those instead of trying to fix my sewing machine this weekend/edit the pattern to make it more sturdy. |

| Here is Sophie in her Pet View car seat that hangs off the seat. I never actually measured it. I got it for about $29.00 from Hunterk9.com. It has a strap that attaches to her harrness to keep her in place, a fleece bottom that comes out for washing, a treat or poopy pick up bag zippered holder in front and is large enough for her to cuddle up and lay down or look out the window.

| Thanks Yorkielover, thats pretty much what I have a pattern for! I picked up the pattern when I got Winston about a year ago since I figured with my sewing skills I could make a more plush one a little cheaper then the store ones. I just never get around to making it. We have a dog bag I can hook over the seat, I figured it would have worked in the mean time... he said nooope! I don't like the non-rigid bottom of this, start over! We've been using a beach towel for now which "works" for the sliding, but he has too much fun fluffing the towel so he ends up sliding anyway when we turn. I've started to think maybe purchasing one of the ones that sit on the seat might be less of a hassle then editing my pattern. Its so hard to really tell how high they are in photos though... which is why I was hoping for some input from the yorkie experts here . |

| I have this one Snoozer My Buddy Lookout Dog Car Seat It sits right on the seat, and it is tall enough for Chase to see out without standing up. This one is for 2 dogs, but you can get the regular lookout carseat, and I would think it would be just as tall. I totally recommend the snoozer seats It is super soft, and well made! |

| Dog Car Seat I also have the Snoozer Lookout for my baby. I never purchased one for my other dog and should have. My older dog climbs and tries to get to me for comfort and ends up falling. Both my dogs can fit in the car seat and their are high enough to see out. My older dog doesn't care to look out, but my yorkie does. You can put a harness on them and hook them in and they are safe. Even if something were to happen, the harness will keep them safe, without choking. I purchased my used for $40 on Craigslist. (When not in the car, I put it in front of the window in the family room and my yorkie uses it as her lookout to watch squirrels and birds.) |

| We have the snoozer also and all three of mine fit. If we were going to travel very far I would borrow one from my neice so we would have two. It puts them up nice and high and they can see out the window, and I can see them in my rear view mirror.

| I have the "Kurgo" for up to 30 lbs. I originally got it to keep them safe while I drive. It has been great for my two 7.6 lbs and 5.7lbs. They both fit inside and it keeps them safe. Also, they can look out the window because it hangs over the seat and you can adjust the height. It has been a lifesaver for me. You can look at Petsmart or another pet store for one.
