Yes, that is what we did. we also have it up against a corner so we actually were able to extend it using the walls. Their area winds up actuall measuring 6' x 6' x 8' x 6'.

I've been looking at this xpen for Cooper. I think I like it better than the metal one. He hates a crate and I've heard alot about the xpens on YT. My concern is that he is a climber. My suggestion there would be to spread a blanket under the pen big enough for the whole pen to sit on to prevent sliding on your hardwood floors. Especially with young puppies, they can be messy so a blanket can easily be thrown in the wash. At least that's what I did. As for climbing.... I really have no suggestion. Kaji could easily jump over he just never tried. I tried not to teach him it's ok to jump over by always using the door/gate to get him in and out of the xpen. That way he always associated the gate with coming in and out and never giving him the option of going over the top as a way to get out.

I got a x pen when allie was 12 weeks she did find the first day then the second. day i came home to find her running around, we went and bought a sheet of wood to lay across the top so she couldnt jump out i was scared she would hurt herself if she continued to climb and jump out

That's a very good idea about the blanket, thanks so much!!! Also a great point about using the gate instead of lifting them over the top!

Oh I know, I'm such a bad mommy! I was just cleaning and refreshing his bowls and he sat there so patiently and looked so cute I stopped to take a picture.

Long story short, my roomie freaked out about me having a dog after being completely fine with the idea, so to assure her, I put a plastic chairmat on the floor, in case he had an accident it wouldn't get on the carpet, and to not be mean and have him sit on something cold, I put a blankie. It was just the right size to fit under the expen. When I finally set it up with 6 panels, I had a much bigger blanket to put under, but I didn't get a picture of that.

Honestly, it's a miracle I get anything done! If I see him do something cute I stop and take a picture.
