My suggestion there would be to spread a blanket under the pen big enough for the whole pen to sit on to prevent sliding on your hardwood floors. Especially with young puppies, they can be messy so a blanket can easily be thrown in the wash. At least that's what I did. As for climbing.... I really have no suggestion. Kaji could easily jump over he just never tried. I tried not to teach him it's ok to jump over by always using the door/gate to get him in and out of the xpen. That way he always associated the gate with coming in and out and never giving him the option of going over the top as a way to get out.
