| Can't keep Yorkie confined.... Rucker is about 4 months old. I have him confined in the kitchen, with two baby gates at each door. I posted earlier that he was climbing over the one with horizontal and vertical slats, so I put a thick blanket over the gate and now he can't climb over it. Now he has focused on the other gate. It is a mesh gate, and I believe he is jumping up over it. I'm trying to watch him now. How in the world am I going to keep this little guy confined? I go back to work tomorrow, and have GOT to figure out something! My husband is going to help me figure something out later....any ideas?

| I need to say that I only put him in the kitchen when we are not home or when I am getting around and can't watch him...for his safety. He can't be roaming the house without me here to watch him...that's why it's important that he stays in the kitchen while we're not here.

| Have you considered getting something like this to keep him in? It's fully enclosed so he can't crawl or jump out of it. Pink Pet Dog Cat Tent Puppy Playpen Exercise Pen Crate - eBay (item 260522325315 end time Mar-11-10 20:17:36 PST)

| I guess the bathroom is the best choice until I can get something else. We live in a smaller town with only a Wal-Mart and a PetSense, and neither one has anything I can use right now!

| Adie was such a good climber she even climbed up the back of the couch using her little toenails. (ouch!) Anyway we solved the problem by going to Menards and buying plastic lattice. we just had to wedge it up against the door. Lowes has them too. Shop 4' x 8' White Plastic Lattice Panel at Lowes.com Good luck! If Rucker is anything like Adie you are going to need it but you will also have the time of your life! |

| I forgot to mention that you can cut it down to a smaller size if you need to. You WILL need a saw for that. |

| I had the same problem with Dora so I just gave up. It's not worth a broken leg. Occasionally she pees on my floor, but I own a carpet cleaner. All 3 of my dogs just seem to spend their time sleeping when I'm away from home.

| If you have an x-pen they sell a cover for it and you would just need to latch it with those small clips. He would be safe and you would not have to worry about him getting out or chewing your walls in the bathroom. And he could still look out to see what's happen around him. I have a top and it works great even for bigger dogs. |

| We got a playpen from a d ifferent company just a little different, but same idea and it works. We have left Penny in her playpen for several hours. We put her bed in there too. However; she tears the pee pads apart if we put them apart in there.

Rucker will not tear a pee pad apart unless we leave the house. It's like his way of saying he's mad at us.

| We kept Finnigan in the kitchen of our rent house at first because the bathroom was tiny! Finnigan did that same thing when he was that age. First he completely chewed through a gate. Next he learned to climb/jump them. And then finally he learned to push the gate bottom out from the wall and squeeze himself through. A temporary fix idea....We finally resorted to a gate with several totes/boxes stacked up in front of it (lol we were moving and couldn't find a x-pen at the time)

| Puppy Pad Shredders I've had this pad holder since Sophie came to live with us. She doesn't bother the pad at all. It's been great for us. Simple Solution Training Pad Holder - Training - Training & Behavior - PetSmart |
