Using a penny in the spot AFTER cleaning is a good idea so you can find all the areas and be sure they are dry and odor free. My dogs would try to eat the pennies, though. Monique

| Thank you! Thank you! My best friend's house is almost completely carpeted and they have infoor and outdoor cats that come and go as they wish and wow.. they have NO respect what-so-ever for the carpets! What's silly is that the cats don't use the litter pan but his s**tzu, Precious, does! We've tried everything! Well almost, now I'm making a run to petsmart and grabbing me some simple solution! Thanks again! Hope it can tackle this job!

| Sounds like your review was very scientific. I will take your lead and try Simple Solution. Thanks for the heads up |

| After you have used Simple Solution and get the black light back out, do the same spots still glow for you? Even spots that I have saturated and have long since dried still show up under a black light. Does that mean I don't have the spots cleaned well enough?

| Went to Petco's website and found this description: "Removes stains and odors caused by urine, vomit, feces, blood, mildew and other organic sources on carpets, upholstery, draperies, clothing, pet bedding, floors, crates, and other water-safe surfaces. Works in carpet cleaning machines too. If you have spots, stains, and odors, this is the Simple Solution." HOWEVER, is there anyone here who HAS used it on wood floors with no problems? Hate to buy some if it won't do the trick or wrecks my floors! Thanks for your help!

I have hardwood floors... In my experience, the urine/odor removers leave stains themselves if left on for too long. (I tested it in the back of a closet). If you only leave it on for a few minutes and wipe it dry, it seems to help, but I had to do it quite a few times before I couldn't smell it any more. (My problem was cat urine though, and it's a lot stinkier than dog). If you aren't worried about stains (looks kind of like a water stain you'd get on a coffee table), then you can use it like the directions say and let it dry up on it's own, then it works with one application.
