| wow you sound just like me. Zoey came home the first of Nov, and just recently ive been having so many problems with her coat matting. I've posted several threads about it. So saturday we went and got all her hair cut off. I was sad but she looks soo cute and shes matt free!! I would have had to sit all day and just groom her to keep the matts out. I have two kids and a full time job, and sitting and matting her all day shes not gonna approve of that. So, I'm hoping now that we cut all that mess off that her hair thats growing in now will be so much better. If not then she does look realllly cute in her puppy cut =] Good Luck!!

Just For Me! TM - HAIR MILK (great shampoo & conditioner - all the milk products - found at Wal-Mart or Target) Dr. Miracle's Store Front or get it from Sally Beauty Supply (relaxed hair potion is extremely good for when blow drying hair and combing out knots. All their products are great!) Sally - Sally #20 Rattail Comb Refill (rattail comb box is like $1.50 for box of them) Get rattail comb to come out knots while hair is wet with oil or hair potion on it. Part hair and comb area then blow dry. Motions - At Home - Motions At Home Weightless Detangling Conditioner Motions Conditioner & Products Then the Olive Oil Hair products. Many Brands but one with green color scheme works the best. Ok, hope this helps more folks.

| Online shopping for black hair care and black skin care products. Roots & Sculpture. Is this the sort of thing I can use to get the tangles out? I'm in the UK, so walmart is a bit of a trek |

| Jen , your delivery may be slow due to the weather here in the UK, we have lots of snow everywhere and things are taking abit longer to be delivered I think.

| Buy olive oil root stimulator in the jar and olive oil spray for hair. The brand I am currently using is the Organics brand, but any brand will do. Wash and condition the dog as usual and then rub the root stimulator in the palms of your hand and work it gently through the coat. Rinse off most, but not quite all, of the root stimulator and then pat dry and blow dry as usual. Yes, your dog will look slightly greasy but less so as days pass. When she is completely dry spray a gentle amount of the olive oil spray on her coat and comb thru.

| my JD has long hair, he does mat some, gets his bath every two weeks. I use a dog shampoo, and cream rinse that I don't totally rinse out. I blow dry but not completly so I can brush him damp. Start to finish is probably an hour..

| Thanks for all the great tips here. Duke is starting to get some matts. They are mainly on his front legs and chest from his sweater. I tend to leave him in the sweater 24/7 to keep him warm. It sounds like I should be taking it off for periods of time. I'm working on getting his matts out and he's going to visit the groomer on Saturday. He's 7 months so it could be that he's getting his adult coat as well.

| Thanks for the info I'm getting some for Nigel today he is 5 months and I have a brush that has fine short metal pins it could be for cats not sure but I noticed the brush gets full of his hair like he is shedding. Maybe it's that stage.

Will the "#012 Buttercomb 4 1/2" ALL FINE" on this product page work for a Yorkie. I couldn't find anything called a greyhound comb..or is this the same thing. Also, I'm thinking this will be a sufficient "wooden pin" brush for my 4 lb. Yorkie. (OVAL - SMALL - 3/4" PIN LENGTH, 7 1/2" BODY LENGTH), found on this page on same site. | |
