I have seen on Victoria Stillwell's show that she used a black light to see urine stains on carpet. Does this really work? Is there a "special" black light? When I came home today, I thought I detected the smell of urine in my bedroom. My carpet is rather dark and sort of multi color so if there was a stain, it wouldn't show up like on a light color carpet. I went out and purchased a blacklight light bulb and put it in a lamp and held it close to the floor, but all it seemed to do was make the carpet look maroon. If there was urine there, would it "glow" or am I using the wrong kind of light? Thanks.

I bought one off Ebay and couldn't find any stains with it, and I knew there should have been a stain in the area where I used the light (on the actualy peepad )..so it didn't work for me..or I didn't use it properly

I bought the one at the petstore... you need to draw all your shades and turn out all the lights.

It worked for us... we were able to find more stains then we would have liked

Yes, the room has to be dark or you won't see it. I have one & it works. You'll see a light spot from pee, poop, vomit. What I don't know is if there is something special about the black light or if it can be any black light.

K..I just turned off all the lights, it was pitch black and then I shined the light on Bailey's pee pad..the pee glows, so it does work!

Wow, good to know. I thought it only worked on cat pee.

any black light will work. but the handy flash lights are worth the money its kinda hard to take a light around that is pluged in cause after all u got to kinda shine it around

you will alot of stuff on the carpet with the black light, the urine will glow yellow, and the lights need to be out

didn't realize there was a blacklight flashlight???? you're right, I was plugging in my lamp and trying to have it reach all the areas. I will look for the flashlight. Where did you find one?

I got mine at drsfosterandsmith.com. Don't remember the price. Also includes a regular flashlight. Some don't.

i work at adventure pets so i get all my stuff through there its a business in Berea ky. at the last trade show i went to they have this new product called urine off and it comes with a flash light.. very good product and the flash light is a black light and led flash light.. thats were i got myn. ill see how much we sale the package deal for tom. so u can get an idea how much they should be
