| good shampoo/conditioner I've been trying to find a good shampoo/conditioner combo that helps make Tink's coat more soft and manageable without being greasy and weighing it down, and I think I've finally found the trick! I used MY shampoo/conditioner (TRESemme' Silk & Protein) yesterday, toweled her off, brushed it out and blow dried it and her coat is BEAUTIFUL! Nice and soft and silky, but not greasy. Even after a full day of playing at the park yesterday she is not all tangled up. I've also started using a small people brush on her instead of her doggie brush (b/c she doesn't like the doggie brush) and she does much better with it. I am trying to train her bangs to lay right, so I blow dried them in the style I wanted them, sprayed some hair spray on her brush and then combed it through her bangs while blow drying them again. The hair spray is one of the "touchable" ones (Pantene Ice Shine - I've also used Pantene Touchable) so her hair isn't stiff, but it keeps it laying right. She is a very pretty puppy right now. I will try and remember to take a pic after I groom her next time to share with ya'll. Anyway just wanted to share.

| A dogs ph is different than humans and a shampoo made for humans can dry their hair out long term

| I haven't found an actual dog shampoo and conditioner that keeps her coat moisturized though, without leaving it all greasy. I'm a member of a small dogs group on yahoo and most of the ladies on it who keep their yorkies in show coats swear by people shampoo and conditioner - that's why I decided to finally try it. What do you use on your furbabies? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

| Shampoo I absolutely love Minksheen 4 which is a shampoo, conditioner, antibacterial formula and insect protection. It is by far the best I have found.

| Minksheen is a wonderful shampoo and conditioner and works better on a silky coat than a cottony one. I also love Harry Barker's Shea Butter shampoo and conditioner. Buddy has a silky coat so I can only recommed it's good for a silky coated Yorkie. PetSilk silk serum is fabulous to for an added shine. |

| Okay, you sold me! I just went and googled it. Sounds like an excellent product. Especially the part about keeping fleas and ticks off the dogs. I've already picked one tick off my sweet Sophie. I've gone and ordered some. Can't wait till it arrives! |

| Ummm..now you have me worried. I only seen one. The Minksheen 4 in 1 shampoo/conditioner. It has the cintronella and stuff in it to help repel fleas and mosquitos and other creepy crawlers.... |

| Sorry...forgot to add.... Last night I was able to bathe Sophie for the first time in two weeks! She was spayed two weeks ago and had her stitches removed last night. In the meantime I was speaking with a Yorkie breeder and complaining how Sophie's hair gets matted so easily. She recommended for daily grooming to use 4 Paws Soft & Silky. I ordered it online but had to wait to use it till last night. Other than it's an aerosal which made my poor Sophie sneeze herself silly, it did an excellent job. What I ended up doing to prevent the sneezing was to spray the brush before I combed her. She is the softest, silkiest little girl this morning and even after a nights rest, no tangles! I do really love the product. But I suggest spraying in a well ventilated/outside area. It also does not leave an oily residue. |

| I use Shure Pets Dazzling Dark Shampoo on Amber and it works really nice on here hair. Amber is a Yorkie Pooh and sometime her hair gets a little wavy when I used the Dazzling Dark it helps keep her hair straight and it seams like it much softer. Here is a post on what it does: Ambers Paw Stop: This Weeks Feathered Shure Pet Product |
