| What kind of crates do you use? I was wondering what kind of crates YT families use. I want to get a new crate for Mimi and have no idea which one to get her. |

| I have two for Roxy. One came from pet smart with a metal door and the other one is a cat crate with a plastic door, it was just the right size. I don't think it makes a difference as long as they are not too big. |

| I have a portable soft sided crate for travel. I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond 14.99 with a coupon. I also have a black wire crate that I got on line. From Pet edge or Revival. It was so much cheaper on line. The one I got retails for 99.00 and I think I paid less than 60 with shipping. I strongly suggest shopping on line for most of your pet needs. Why pay retail if you don't have to. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I have both wire and plastic for each of my Yorkies. The Plastic crate is what I sue if we go to the vet or travel in the car, the wire ones I use in the house. I keep their doors open for them, so if they want to be left alon for any reason, they have a safe spot to go.

YT 2000 Club Member | I have 3 different kinds that I use. I have a plastic one that I use for all my small animals when they need to go to the vets etc, that I paid about 20 dollars for. I have a soft sided one that I use for Tucker in the car when travel long distances, that I paid 40 for and I have a black metal one that I use for Tucker at night, when we go somewhere with out him etc that I paid 60 for at our local feed store. Whatever you buy just make sure that its big enough for them to stand in and comfortably turn around in. good luck!!

| I'm weird as far as my crate goes. I have a 36" x 48" wire crate for my 2lb 13oz yorkie! Before I get grief though, I did it for a reason.......LOL We orignially had her in a crate just big enough for her, I think it was a cat crate, but then she had a hypoglycemic incident and we decided to free feed her. So, we upgraded to a little bigger one. Then we noticed that after being in the crate all day, she wouldn't use the bathroom until we got home and let her out. So, we upgraded again and begin putting puppy pads in with her. THEN, she started chewing the stupid puppy pads up, so I researched and decided to litter box train her. That meant we had to upgrade the crate again, so she's got this HUGE crate with her bed, food, water and litter box in it. There is not much floor room left after all that, but it's served our purpose for the past four years!

| We have a wire crate and a Nylabone crate. I like them better than the plastic types because the fold down for easy traveling. I don't crate my dogs, but I used the wire crate with a wire expen attached to the front while the girls were being house trained.

| Once again I guess I'm over the top. I have two crates at home. I have a playpen in the kitchen with food, water, and a piddle pad for when we leave Sadie during the day. It also folds up so we use this one for travel (hotels). I have a wire crate by our bed that has water and a piddle pad for the middle of the night when she either has to go or is thirsty. I have a plastic crate for in the car and I've just gotten a Kwigy-Bo soft bag because we're going to fly with her. Can you guys think of anything else I need? |

| We use the good ol' plastic pet taxi for normal day to day & travel use.. its perfect sized. We're planning on flying this summer so we bought a Sherpa softsided crate for that.

| Norman has a playpen, but S'anah has a wire crate because she can jump/climb out of the playpen.
