| [News] Men Plead Not Guilty To Yorkie Dognapping (CBS) LOS ANGELES Two men pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Los Angeles to felony charges of stealing four purebred Yorkshire terriers at gunpoint during a home invasion robbery in March. 23-year-old Troy Cabral and 19-year-old Ryan Jason Betton surrendered last month after a videotape of the robbery aired on local television. Police later recovered the pups and one adult dog and reunited them with their owners. Both men remain free on 100-thousand dollars bail that had already been posted on their behalf. Prosecutors asked for a bail increase. But Superior Court Commissioner Catherine Pratt noted the bail posted was a "significant amount" and that the two young men have "significant community ties." The two men, both from Los Angeles, allegedly posed as prospective buyers on February 23rd and made an appointment to see the puppies, on sale for 25-hundred dollars each. When a family member opened the door, a robber pulled a gun and ordered the family of four to lie on the living room floor. http://cbs2.com/topstories/local_story_094175735.html

| I am sooooo glad that the mother and pups were reunited finally with the family. That story sent chills down my spine.

| There are advantages to owning a gun as well. In the event we were ever robbed (knock on wood and God forbid) whoever was stupid enough to come to our home wouldn't be leaving on their own. We've both taken safety courses and target shoot for fun, I'm a good shot, but the man of the house is dead on. Add our babies to the mix and I know for a fact they wouldn't make it back out the door with out a limp or a paramedic. |

| I was just thinking about that robbery yesterday. So glad they've been found and the babies and mom returned.

| I am glad the men were caught and I certainly hope they get more than a slap on the hand for this. I took a conceal carry class and am now legal to carry a gun, so in the event something like this would ever happen to me at least I would have the option if need be to shoot. |
