| Donating YT 500 Club Member | How sad, I hope this baby gets found and is okay. As far as threatening to sue, I agree (especially w/airlines) wouldn't be very effective. At best, you might get the money back, but the real issue here is the welfare of the dog, and no money would ever alleviate your worries over that. I was fortunate enough to find a breeder close by, so flying was not a consideration for us. I would have been hesitant to want a dog to fly, for this very reason.

You have to show ID and sign for a pup before any airline will allow you to remove the crate...so I doubt the breeder has the pup...I think someone in the handling/shipping process took her...but I question the wisdom of sending a young pup back to the breeder who was not 100%..how did they get a vet to give a health cert saying it was okay???..the trip alone could have been enough stress to make her very ill. Dogs are well insured, so the owner will get her money, but it is sad not to know what happended to the puppy.

I live about ten miles from Dallas. There was a report of a yorkie holding up a flight because it was running down the run way. I hear another report that the yorkie was adopted out. They named the dog runway. You might want to get the local news and check into it. I am so sorry about your baby missing. Last edited by reginap; 06-27-2006 at 05:00 PM.

We should try to help This baby should've been microchipped Maybe calling the airline is a good idea. I wish we could get in contact with the owner so we could find a way for all of us to help her, and apparently this has happened with Delta before! God I HOPE someone stole her as well, then she's safer. But if she's just sitting somewhere, my god, no food or water. this gives me chills.

I read this "Inaccuracies (hide comment) Just a comment on Delta and Vivi. Vivi was lost by Delta airlines in February, not March. Although Delta offered $2,000, it was not accepted by the owners as compensation. As far as I know, Delta still denies responsibility for Vivi's lost despite a damaged crate that was fine when she was delivered to the shipping department. Vivi is still lost in NYC and was last sighted approximately 2 weeks ago. Delta has not assisted in her recovery. - George G. - Ballston Spa " "Delta "misplaced" my puppy, too! (hide comment) I can definitely relate to this woman's pain. Delta (Dallas airport, no doubt) "misrouted" my 8 wk old/1.5 lb puppy to New Orleans instead of Norfolk. She did finally arrive - 8 hours late! I was very fortunate that she arrived at all. In sending her puppy back to TX, this lady and the Breeder were trying to do what they felt was best for the health and welfare of the dog. It may have just needed more time with its Mom. You cannot judge or fault the owner for that. Air flight for the puppies may not be what others feel is the right thing to do, but it is the quickest and a car drive would take too long. When my puppy was misrouted in Dallas, I called the Breeder and let him know the situation and told him that she would be coming in 8 hrs later than scheduled. He told me that this would cause her to be listless and dehydrated and he gave me directions on what I must do immediately to bring her back around. When she finally arrived, I did what he said and w/in 20 minutes, the dog perked right up and has been fine ever since. A good Breeder knows what the puppy needs. This decision was between the lady and the Breeder. Each of them had the puppy's best interest in mind...period. Delta screwed up here, that's the bottom line. My Breeder won't ship his pups with Delta any longer as my Puppy was the second of his to be misrouted (lost) out of Dallas/Fort Worth in a six month period. - PJ M. - Virginia Beach "

i'm sorry to post again but I wanted to fix something and my time ran out the 1st comment is about another dog "This isn't the first time Delta lost a family pet. In March, the airline lost a champion whippet named Vivi after she broke free of her crate, newspapers reported. The dog was never recovered, and the airline settled with the sight hound's owner for $2,000 in search-related fees." http://news.pajamasmedia.com/busines...cant_fin.shtml Another article I read did a follow up, apparently right now, they're treating it like lost baggage, the report is in "claims" right now. ridiculous. Here's a pic of that puppy

Did you find little Apple yet? This is a terrible thing to say it's a dog and not a kid. Because it is a family member witch is missing. I hope she is found and at home with her mom.

I can't imagine going through something so horrible. This is so terribly wrong. Questions have to be answered. You can't just misplace someones pet.
