In shock but should be surprised! I was very sad when I read this! I live in Florida and If anything were to happen to my Henesey or her mate Jack Daniels I dont know what I would do. But this isnt much of a surprise. People here are very cruel. They butchered one of our families horses just to do it. Left it in our yard for us to wake up and find her in peices. And we are not alone. About 7 to 9 horses were treated the same. I wouldnt put anything past people. I have 3 acres and for the most part I allowed my babies to roam freely outside while being indoors (with the doors and windows OPEN) cleaning or cooking. However I also have a 86lb boxer who is extremely over pertective with out lil ones, who is always outside with them. Even still hearing this story I think im going to change my routine and not let them out of my sight. I hope this never happens to anyone else. I agree with everyone who's said that out dogs are our children! They are so right! |
I am a fairly new Yorkie owner and Teegy is a very social and loving dog. I was fortunate the majority of my friends and my brother are dog owners and I was able to socialize him with lots of other dogs and people from a very young age. I recommend to avoid your Yorkie baby becoming a yappy snappy dog get them out there socializing. Our friend Pat, who has a beautiful Yorkie Murphy, has a grand daughter Molly who has formed a very special bond with him and he loves her right back. So don't keep them at home, Teegy loves bouncing around in the snow and loves nothing better than a lovely walk in the park, meeting new dogs. |
What terrible person would steal a pet from someone. It seems to be a good idea to get your pet mircochipped so it can not be sold if stolen. It can be traced. Most Vets will scan for chips as general procedure. We too take our yourkie most places where we go....she part of the family. :aimeeyork |
dog clothes I feel so bad for anyone that has a pet stolen. People don't understand how attach we are to our furbabies. My heart goes out to them. :eyetearss:eyetearss |
I am a new Yorkie owner as of Nov. 2009. I would just die if some one could my "Teddy". I feel so sorry for you. Teddy could Lick and Lick us all day. Any advise for him to stop Licking so much ? P J & tEDDY |
A couple weeks ago I heard on our local news that 12 yorkies had been stolen from various houses in a part of town about 15 minutes from where we live. The story had a lady who said her husband had let him out in the fenced yard for no more than 10 minutes and went back to check and he was gone. They showed a pic of the yard and it was a good fenced in yard. i was  I never really leave Toby out in the yard any longer than it takes him to do his business, but now i check extra cautiously to see if anyone is hanging around our street or anything before letting him out and I check on him extra frequently (Usually just watch him out the window the whole time). It's sad and ridiculous that people would do this  |
Little Dog stolen :( I am so sorry for the person that got her Yorkie stolen, I am always frightened of my Yorkie getting stolen especially when he want to go out at night to go to the toilet, he likes to go out just before he goes to bed, although he is not out for long and our property is fully fenced, it is very dark around here at night, and I don't let him out for very long, but still I have seen a man in our back yard about a yea:aimeeyorkr ago, before I got Yorkie, so I guess i am still very aware that someone could get over the fence. Well all the best to that one that thi happened to and I do hope that you gt your Yorkie back. |
Old thread but I wonder if ever got her dog back??:( |

Ah yes...The microchip...Usually if a vet actually scans an animal they assume it belongs to the person that brought in the animal...It isn't like a magical little receiver. My French Bulldog was microchipped, and stolen and that was the end of that. Nothing you can really do. Best thing you can do is keep a watch on your animals...I live in the middle of nowhere but someone that had seen him with us at some time, I assume, came down our driveway, grabbed him and drove off like something crazy...We have an AmStaff that discourages most people from getting out of their car but my babies always love car rides...so all they had to do is pull up and open the door and my Frenchie stole himself. Many people want an animal that makes people stop and stare and ask questions, but not many people can afford one....so they figure they can just take one...Because it's just an animal, they figure they can feed and take care of it so why not take it. People are dumb and what I am saying is if it is worrying you make sure that your dogs are in sight. If they go out keep them with you...Don't leave them in the car at all...so on and so forth. You can't expect them to not be dogs anymore...but they wil have to be dogs with a crazy obsessing owner...lol. Just ask my animals as I stand a foot away on every bathroom break... |
