this is very real! We've had two dogs stolen from our neighborhood to be used for bull-baiting in pit bull fights... the police got both of them back as we saw the man steal them from their yards.... we live in a very rural area and no one driving through would believe that there were things like this going on..... Please, please, take care of your babies....they depend on you roxanne |
Heartbreaking It is heartbreaking to hear of stolen Yorkies. Our Brady was missing for about 1 hour last Month and we searched the neighborhood and the house. I posted it on YT and immediately got a phone call from someone (wish I could remember her name) who lives in the same town (Port St. Lucie, FL) and said her dog (no collar) was missing for 3 weeks. She put an ad on Craigs List and I was so grateful to her and sad about her baby. After we search everywhere I heard a very faint bark in the house and we discovered in was under the recliner. When my husband was sitting in it Brady went underneath and when my husband got up Brady was stuck in there and we didn't know it . I can't imagine the anguish that is felt by anyone with a missing dog. It was the most terrifying and horrible hour I've ever been through (we live in a gated, over 55 community) and to have to go through an experience of a lost dog for days and weeks must be "Hell". Also be careful with the recliners. |
3 Attachment(s) I'm trying to figure out how to start a new post when I saw this thread. My cousin just called me to tell me that her Yorkie's been missing since last night. :( She is soooooo upset of course. I had told her about Yorkietalk so she asked me to post on here for her. They live in Pembroke Pines, FL in the Towngate area. Her baby's name is Pocket. He's a small one, about 2 to 3 pounds. I'll be reading through these threads but if anyone has any advice for us please let us know. Here are a few pictures. In the one with the 2 yorkies he is the smaller one next to my 5 pound Romeo (for comparison). Looking again at the pics, I see that he looks dark in the last pic but he has more of the silver hair, he was wet in that picture. |

Your sister needs to contact every vet and groomer in the area and give them a flyer with his picture and description, if the dog is microchipped..call the company, post on craig's list, kiiji, etc, make BIG laminated signs with REWARD and post everywhere, call animal control..and knock door to door in her neighborhood, ask children in the area to keep their eyes out |

so sad I could not imagine this, I worry about my Angel when I am at work, i have been bringing her with me, she sits in my office either on my desk, or on her pillow in my room, the girls watch her when i leave the room, but i am afraid someone will go in to my house and take her,, i am so sorry and i hope you get your baby back. |
Monitoring yorkies I have a friend who owns 7 yorkies. They are her LIFE! While she is at work all day she has a monitor that is set up in two places in her large livingroom/dining room area where these precious furballs spend their day. She is somehow able to log onto a site on the web and monitor her yorkies. I believe she can actually manipulate the camera to scan the whole room from right to left. She checks on them all day long as she does computer work and is logged on anyway. For the most part they sleep. If anyone ever entered her house she would have them on camera. It might be something some of you want to look into. I could find out the details if anyone is interested. If the person who lost Pocket wants to post an ad on our Lost and Found page, she can go to www.floridayorkierescue.com and see our page or email us with the details, photos and contact phone number to floridayorkierescue@yahoo.com. Of course this is a free service. Good luck, Kit Florida Yorkie Rescue |

3.5 years ago my first baby girl Yorkie (Tia Maria) was outside running around with our beagle and playing like they always did, The yard was completely escape proofed so they were ok to play out there... My ex was watching them But the phone rang so he ran inside to answer it, And he was inside maybe 5 minutes...He went back out and the back gate which had a heavy duty latch was wide open...Tia was gone!!!! Even though we knew she had been stolen..We spent weeks putting ads in papers, going door to door, putting up flyers, checking shelters...but to no avail. |
Mine was stolen during a burglary of my home :(Nov. 25, 2009. I don't think this is appropriate as it devastated me when I heard that my child could have been stolen for this reason. Please don't do that again. I lost MY CHILD! Quote:

My dog has not been returned. Please be more sympathetic to others. Your posting hurt me all over again and I don't think it helps any of us to know about this. My baby was stolen during a burglary of my home the day before Thanksgiving last year. The thieves took what they could grab in what I estimate to be two to three minutes. They also grabbed C.J. and I live with the horror of what it must have been like for her to be taken from her safe home and into the arms of people like this. |
