I think so. My co-worker just sent me this video about a yorkie been stolen while on a walk. So sad... Yorkie Stolen from Northeast DC Boy |
I don't know but these crappy thieves could at least ransom them back to the original owner. There needs to be a concerted effort to combat this. How about an international breeder agreement to reduce yorkie prices for a year. I had no idea they cost that much. No such thing as a GPS implant eh? I'm gonna go edit Wiki pages, for starters. |
I just found this thread today... How horrible! I cannot believe someone would just steal someones pet like that. There are so many heartless people out there... it makes me sick. I hope that woman gets justice and her dog gets home safe. |

My husband and I were walking our two babies in the park and walked past the only other car in the parking lot. A guy was standing by the drivers window talking to a lady inside the car. When he saw us walk by he looked at our babies and asked the lady in the car if she wanted a dog. The guy sounded a little too serious to me and it really scared me. I thank God that she must have told him no because he looked like he intended to go for the dogs if she wanted them. We went straight to the car and left. I still think about that when I walk the babies and take I take pepper spray with me and carry a heavy stick. It's really sad. |

This just made me ill....:( |
I use to take my yorkies with me to Petsmart but I quit doing this because I was afraid someone would try to snatch them or find out where I live. I worry about someone breaking into my house and stealing them. They are always with me on a leash when we are outside. I can't imagine what this lady is going through. Gen has been looking for Cookie so long and at least this lady is on the news. I pray they catch the people that did this. |

I dont feel I did anything but I guess from my experience people are doing more around my city to find their missing pets. This 73 yr old woman's chihuahua went missing and her grand daughter posted on craigs list. The grandma is dying, she has a serious heart condition. She was grieving and her health was suffering because of this. I was telling people to PLEASE make bigger flyers with bigger pictures, laminate them. Ask anyone to post the flyers for you. I told them all the places online to post about your lost pet. The other day I get a phone call and the young woman on the other line was hysterical. I could not understand her but I know she was very happy. I had to ask her to calm down and who she was?! She told me " I was the one that posted the lost chihuahua for my grandma" She told me that after reading my ads over and over and seeing my posters on the streets that she was learning so much and was using these tips to find her grandmother's dog. She asked a little convenience store if she could put the flyer on their glass. The store clerk got a weird look on his face and then he told her "this guy that comes here everyday has been trying to sell a dog that looks just like the one on your flyer" She asked if he lived near there and the clerk told her it was a few blocks down and it was the corner house. She didnt wait, she had her 5 yr old daughter with her. She just took off and went to the house. The front door was ajar and she just marched right in and started calling the dog's name and in a few seconds the little chihuahua ran into her arms!!!!!!!!! The guy was in the backyard and heard the noise and was outside as she walked out with the dog in her arms. He yelled at her and told her he was calling the cops! She told him to go ahead and call them! She then realizes that this man had helped her grandma carry some things into her car like 10 days earlier. At the time the chihuahua was in her car. He was trying to sell the dog for drugs or money. She told me that she had just walked into her grandma's house with the little chihuahua in her arms. She told me that her grandma was holding her chest and in total shock telling her " I thought she was gone forever!" I was so happy and crying. All this happened and I was the first person she calls to thank me. I told her I didnt do anything but she said I did so much more that I didnt even realize.I told her she was totally insane for going in there but I was so happy everything turned out so well for them Gen |
I forgot to mention that I spoke to Niko's dad. The yorkie that was stolen out of a home in FL. They are devastated and really want this little guy home so bad. I told him about Cookie being missing and its the worst feeling. I cant and wont wrap my head around the idea of how or why people would steal or keep these pets knowing that they have parents looking for them. I could be on my last dime and would NEVER in a million years consider taking a pet to sell it. Gen |
