Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Have you tried to contact them? If you know the name/location of the person you're buying from maybe you could call the Humane Society in that area or animal control to see if there have been any complaints on the breeder/facillity. I don't know what happens if you purchase a dog then the place is raided and your dog is swept up with the others in the rescue attempt. That's a good question.

| Good news! Okay, so I did get a hold of the breeder. She says my fur baby is doing great and she is going to send me a updated photo of her and her sisters today. I haven't seen a photo of her ever since Feb 4th. Its been almost a month now.... and I know puppies changes a lot around that age. . . . So I'm extremly excited to see. And I'm going to call the humane socitey to see if they've heard anything. =] Thats a great idea.....but would they give out any information? Are they allowed to since they don't even know who they are talking to? I'm not sure but I'll give it a try this weekend.

| Are you going to meet the breeder? I would never buy a dog again unless I went to the house and saw where they live. You cannot trust anyone! I was given papers, had all the info on mother and father...and paid $2000. Since then my dog has cost me almost 18K in medical bills. There are so many people out there calling themselves breeders! Go see them face to face!

| there are sites where you can check out the breeder to see if there have been complaints filed. Also, call the National Humane Society in Washington. I will try to find the site and post it.;

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I got a notice today saying "The White County Sheriff's Department in Tennessee recently rescued more than 250 dogs from a local puppy mill." I hope they keep closing these places down at a rate that makes it more trouble than it's worth to run one.

The dogs were dehydrated and living in their own feces when investigators rescued them from Newton County's J and B's Precious Puppies facility in February. Since then more than 5,000 people requested to adopt the dogs. Thursday you'll have your first chance to browse the available puppies. The Humane Society of Missouri will hold an adoption preview at its St. Louis City location Thursday. | St. Louis Humane Society offers puppies for adoption 03/26/2009 - St. Louis Humane Society offers puppies for adoption - STLtoday.com link to adoption application at the above website St. Louis Humane Society offers puppies for adoption By Carolyn Tuft ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 03/26/2009 ST. LOUIS -- Humane Society volunteers have nursed puppies and adult dogs rescued from a puppy mill in southwest Missouri back to health. Now, the pooches are ready for adoption to qualified owners. Beginning at noon today, interested people can go to the Humane Society of Missouri's headquarters at 1201 Macklind Avenue in St. Louis to look at the dogs who are well enough to be adopted out. If people can't make it to the headquarters, they can view the dogs online at hsmo.org. Applications for adoption are also available on online. The society must review the applications to see if prospective new owners are qualified to take care of the dogs, who have special needs because of their maltreatment at the puppy mill discovered near Seneca, Mo., in Newton County last month. No one will be able to take home a dog today, society officials said. Adoptable pooches include the following breeds: Pug, Shih Tzu, Poodle, Westie, Brussels Griffon, Lhasa Apso, Cocker Spaniel, Shar Pei, Ora Pei, Husky, Boston Terrier, Pekingese, Chow, Schnauzer, miniature Pincher, Chihuahua, Dachshund and Pomeranian. All applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Sunday. The open house to view the puppies in person runs from noon until 7 p.m. today at the society headquarters. The society has not said when the puppies will begin to go home with new owners. The society has been caring for 209 animals rescued from the puppy mill -- 208 dogs and one cat. Police also rescued a Bengal Tiger that was taken elsewhere. The dogs and cat had been living in feces and other unsanitary conditions. Many were suffering from malnutrition and were dehydrated. Many of the dogs have ongoing health issues, so the Humane Society will only adopt the animals out to those people who are experienced in caring for dogs.
