| thanks for providing us with this update. i check this thread daily to see what has become of this case. that is good news. i dreaded that it would be considered second degree animal cruelty, but your news gave me some hope! now, i'm hoping that the poor victimized dogs win this case. even more, i hope those awful families pay out of pocket for all the damage they inflicted on those animals from negligence. |

| How good to see the authorities take this matter seriously. May this horrible case bring many changes in laws in your state - setting precedents for the rest of the country.

| We were just down at our local pet shopping buying food and found out they have over 8,000 pounds of dog food to donate for these pups. In addition to that, customers have donated everything from towels to toys and cash. My husband and I volunteered to come down and help them transport all of it to the center in Everett. They have so many donations they are running out of room to store it. People are being so generous to help out these poor abused animals. Roses to all of them and thorns to the abusers.

| Some people I know also collected some donations: once in Medina, people were very responding, including money donations, and once in Bellevue park (response was not so good). But as you probably know, more than 40 dogs in Seattle Humane Society in Bellevue. Today, I was in Humane Society at volunteer meeting.... I saw some of those puppy mill dogs, but don't know exactly which kennel they came from. I asked volunteers, they have no idea and it seems like don't involved too much in this story. They all different breeds, most chihuahuas, yorkies (one looks like my Jess), poodle mixes, boston. Some females look like they just had puppies, some are more outgoing, try to get an attention, some are way too timid and scared. I saw a big apricot poodle from puppy mill raid who was SO thin that you can count all his ribs.... just ribs and skin - that all. Unfortunately, condition, they stay, is not good - some of them located at kennel that smells horrible, some in small dog's kennels on top of each other. Just not enough space seems like...-( Here are updates: 1. Here is the link to watch (February 9th, 2009). You will see Brandon Hatch and wife Terrah speaking about the deplorable conditions of the Renee Roske Puppy Mill Ring, at the hearings in Olympia today. The turn out was outstanding!! There were tons of people there to fight for the "Puppy Mill Bill" , and only four (4) people there to oppose it (fight against it ). | update: PuppyJustice.com :: Saying “NO!” to Puppy Mills in Washington State » Blog Archive » Email: Puppy Update I cant believe how far this has gone! I had no idea that I was going to end up on TV a couple days ago when we were in Olympia. For the record, that camera made me look fat. I really do have a neck and I know what they mean now about tv making you gain 10 pounds. I think it made me gain like 40 pounds though So Olympia was really fun, I was scared to death and I will admit it. I had no idea that Komo was going to be there. Really though, I am glad they were there and glad that everyone got to hear about what I thought. I dont know if they showed the pictures on TV that Skagit County Animal Control Officer Emily Diaz brought or not. They were brutal to be honest. But they needed to be shown. People need to know what these puppy mills do to the poor dogs. I think that puppy mill owners treat dogs as if they were property and not as if they were alive and certainly do not give them the dignity that they deserve. I think its safe to say that myself and my family have no problem with breeding your dogs. Its only the inhumane part that we dont like. None of us believe that one person can take care of 60 dogs by themselves either. At least not properly the way they should be. There were 4 people (I think) there that opposed the bill. One of them is Bob, He owns a parrot shop at 806 Yelm Av. E in Yelm, WA. Bob is the gentleman in the video that is on the left in a yellow shirt. We walked out of the room at the same time, I saw Bob and said "I guess we are on opposite sides of the fence". He disagreed and stated that if this bill goes through "It will cause puppy mills to go underground". I still dont understand that and I have been thinking about it for 2 days now. After a 30 second conversation in the hallway, I excused myself and headed for the bathroom. Unfortunately had to leave Terrah and my Cousin in the hallway while I used the restroom. Apparently some words were exchanged with the ladies that opposed the bill. When I came out of the bathroom it seemed as if tempers had flared a little while i was gone. My dad was there also, He is a mean bastard when he wants to be so i was not overly worried about Terrah and Shannon. Here is a link to the entire video, its full length. Skip to bypass the other bills. http://tvw.org/media/mediaplayer.cfm...7288189&bhcp=1 read what stupid things breeders say "you can take easy care of 60 dogs" You can see the lady talk that says its easy to take good care of 60 dogs. Gimme a break. Another thing, the ones that opposed this bill did not really did not seem to be put togethar all that well. I may be picking a fight, but oh well. The bill is not aimed at legitimate breeders. As a matter of fact, I have seen a number of legite breeders that say this bill sounds very good to them. I think what these people dont understand is that not every county has good laws when it comes to the amount of dogs a person can own. My county has NO laws about it. We need a law that can cover all of our state like an umbrella. Our programmer finished the database, We now have a program that will enable someone to click a box and have the law for that county displayed. They can even compare 2 laws side by side. It is setup for the entire Country, but we have to manually add the data. So we will start with Washington state. Look for that to go live in the next few days. It is on the top of my list. Reminder, tomorrow is the day in Olympia. PuppyJustice.com :: Saying “NO!” to Puppy Mills in Washington State » Blog Archive » Lobby day in Olympia A Auction for Advertising to raise some money for SPOT Next month we will pick another shelter to raise money for. Terrah wanted to start with SPOT, so SPOT it is. We decided that a great way for us to donate to the shelter would be by auctioning off the top right corner of puppyjustice.com for 30 days. Anyone can bid, even if you just wanna have a banner that says Happy Anniversary to someone. Or if you are a business and want some advertising. The money will need to be donated straight to spot after the auction is over. Bidding for the banner spot starts at $5.00, pretty cheap Follow the link below to get the details PuppyJustice.com :: Saying “NO!” to Puppy Mills in Washington State » Blog Archive » Donate to Puppies There is another fundraiser coming up and a very nice lady by the name of KC is putting it on. I will have something better put togethar on that and sent out as soon as I can. Last edited by omichka; 02-11-2009 at 08:14 PM. |

Yorkie Talker | Thanks to Omichka I just wanted to express my appreciation to you for what you have done. I've just read through the chronicle of your personal involvemnt with this dreadful situation and really want to commend your persistence!!! It is clear you are a person of great compassion and integrity. Your commitment to these poor animals is inspiring! I rescued a 9 year old Yorkie from the Seattle Humane Society in Bellevue last April. I can not imagine my life without his amazing little guy. He has lots of little friends in the Eastside Yorkie Meet up group whose owners also care deeply about this issue. I'll be checking out S.P.O.T. and seeing about adopting a sibling for my Bula. Take heart; your actions make a difference! |

| Thank you for kind words, but there are people who did help her shut down besides me. I just have some connection with them. Yesterday, one of them went to Olympia, and gave an interview to KOMO. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it on TV yet, but she has attacked by nasty e-mails from those puppy mills already. BTW, if you also have passion for animals and hate puppy mills as we do, click here: PUPPY-STORE-FREE-WASHINGTON CAMPAIGN (Seattle, WA) - Meetup.com We do a pet store protest by Sierra and Fish in Factoria (Bellevue)every weekend from 11am to 2pm. Unfortunately, we are not of front of petstore because of private property, but we are by the main road. It will be nice if more people will come because there are 3 entrance to the mall, and some potential buyers just don't see us. It made me sick when one couple bought a yorkie mix during the store protest. We have very nice informative booklets that I prepare for people. If any of you interested, just contact me, I will send it, or maybe I will post here....later... it will be nice to see you there. It is very peacefull protest, we are not crazy, no anger or yelling. Many people support us. This CAMPAIGN moved from LA, where a few pet stores are closed now because of those protests. During this days the organizer in San Diego trying to do same campaign.... |

| MO is capital of US puppy mills............. they will be all the time .... because naive (or even stupid) uneducated people support them, buy online, in pet stores..... those low class puppy millers have no moral, the only things they care about -MONEY. it makes me sick to see those poor dogs... but... how many we don't know about? no one knows exact amount of puppy mills in the USA because too many unlicenced kennels somewhere in woods of Midwest.... |
