| hair loss and top knot question my friend who has laceys sister winnie took her dog to the vet today we thought she may have ring worms, she has a bald spot on top of her head a little bigger then an eraser but when she took her to the vet she said nothing showed up under the woods black light and also took samples of her hair to test ( that will take 5 days) but she did tell her that some dogs when they have top knots in can get damaged or rotten hair folliculus. is this true? winnie doesnt even have her hair up nearly as often as lacey and never tight. is this something i should worry about cause i always have laceys hair up.

| My furbaby has a topknot in all the time and she does not have any of those problems. She has a certain spot on her head where the hair has broken because of her scratching it, but no bald spots. Good luck on your search and I hope that you figure it out.

| I think if the rubber bands pull on it, it can cause the hair to be pulled out. I know that Turbo's hair seems a little tinner on the sides of the top knot because the rubber bands I used when I first got him pulled the hair. Now I just braid the top knot (haha, I copied V) and it is less stress on his hair follicles.

| I love the braid to, I planned on copying it when Bella's hair grows longer. I would think if the hair is being pulled to tight to make the topknot that it could damage it or cause it to fall out as well. Makes me wonder if the little bands I use are harmful to Bella's hair, I think I would cry if she ended up with a bald spot.
