| I'd call the person you bought him from, and ask them what they were feeding him/her before you got him.

| my father inlaw got the dog from a breeder in Florida. He have been with us about 2wks now. I started him on evo when i got him but i read that evo has a high protein content. I noticed that his rear was getting fat and the rest of his body was staying the same. I stopped evo and started science diet dry, with a little bit of evo wet. This brought is rear end back to "normal" size. I am just confused as what to feed him. Evo is hard to find and i was thinking if i can find another dog food brand which i would readily find pet smart or any other convenience store. any suggestions? |

| I would also recommend that you contact the breeder to see what she was feeding him-you don't want to switch food brands abruptly because it can really upset their tummies, especially in puppies. Also, if they get upset tummies and get diarrhea, you need to watch them very closely to make sure that a young, small puppy doesn't get dehydrated and become weak or hypoglycemic. With that said, if you're looking to feed him something different, check out the different brands at www.dogfoodanalysis.com You'll find that Science Diet isn't a very quality food, along with many others that vets like to recommend. Many vets will push brands like Science Diet, Eukanuba and others because they get money from those large companies toward their veteranarian practice, so please be aware of that. A few of the popular brands that I see YT'ers feeding their dogs are Canidae, Royal Canin, and Chicken Soup. I personally feed my dogs a home prepared diet that includes raw and cooked meats, grains, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products along with supplements to ensure they are getting proper nutrition. I also sometimes give them a little Blue Buffalo brand kibble mixed with cottage cheese or yogurt for breakfast. Before you choose any dog food or meal plan for your dog, I strongly urge you to do your own research online, and make the best decision for you and your dog based on your own findings.

Petsmart does carry many of the brands I mentioned above, including Royal Canin and Blue Buffalo. Canidae and Chicken soup are not available at Petsmart (at least in my area), but a locally owned shop in your area may carry those and others.

| The breeder whom we got Ariel from was feeding her Eukanuba Puppy, so we are sticking with that for now. I'm currently looking into holistic/organic food for when she gets older. The breeder also gave us some Nutri-Cal in case she doesn't eat the recommended amount of food each day. |

| Bella is 13 weeks and we feed her Canidae. She loves it and seems to be doing really well on it. Good luck!

I fed that to Bella when i got her 2 years ago as thats what the breeder had her on but I quickly switched her over. Please read up on some of the findings when Eukanuba was teted....showed many bad bi-products and chemicals like phenobarbital

| Eek... I just did a quick search on the board about Eukanuba and not a lot of people like it. Went on Google and did a search for even more reviews, and read some negative reviews about their ingredient list. Animal by-products?!?!?! My older dog has been on Eukanuba since she was a pup (she is now 2.5 years) and has been losing her appetite lately. I've been thinking about switching brands with her for a while now, but now is definitely the time to do it. I guess I am now on the lookout for new puppy food (and doggy adult food) as well. |

| Hi Diggy! I actually started looking up reviews for Eukunaba as soon as I posted that comment. Just out of curiosity, I wanted to see what others thought of it. What I found was not at all positive, to say the least! I am switching her food and my older dog's food as soon as possible! I want to switch over only once, so I need to do some more research. |

| The breeder we got Charlie from fed him Eukanuba puppy. We switched him to Royal Canin within a week and it loves it! He has been eating Royal Canin for the past few weeks and has had no issues except that he might overeat

| You are smart to do research on the different dog foods out there. Read the ingredients on the labels and make sure there is no corn, no wheat or soy and no by-products . I offer the LIfe's Abundance All Natural Human Grade Dog and Cat food. It is for all life stages which means it is formulated for puppies, adults and seniors. All the ingredients are human grade and all come from USA suppliers. If you don't want to homecook, this is the next best thing to it and it is super fresh delivered straight from the manufacturing plant to your door via UPS. It doesn't sit in warehouses or store shelves. No matter what you decide on, just read the ingredients and make sure that you are feeding the best quality food. If you would like a free sample, just let me know. Good luck with your new baby!! HUGS! XOXOXO Linda & PAK |

| When I first got Bitsy, she was on Iams Puppy and her stool was very soft. She now gets 1/3 of Merricks Puppy canned twice a day and I leave Innova Puppy Dry all day out for her. It's been 2 weeks now and her poop is perfect! Well formed, and when I pick it up, it rarely leaves any smears. |

| After doing some research i bought the organic dog canned food from petsmart. He ate it with much of a problem, but then after some time he started to vomit up some of the food. I have not notice this if i feed him just dry. Any suggestions? |
