| Puppy will not eat Help! My new puppy was born on June 19. We brought her home on August 24. She weighs 1 1/2 pounds. Her mom and dad were in the 4 lb range. At first she ate a few bits of dog food but as after about the first day she stopped eating completly. She has been to the vet twice to check out the problem. The second time, she was hypoglycemic. She never had a seizure. They have stabilized her with IV's and have completed numerous tests and pronounced her perfectly healthy. She is coming home from the vet tomorrow and as of today, she still is not eating for them. I would appreciate any ideas about how I can help my puppy eat and also what to expect as we go forward. |

| my pupies had this problem too, i switched them to a soft canned food for about a week, and left it in their cagefor only 20 min if they did not eat then i took it away (but only after 20 min was over) they began eating it as soon as they realized it was soft and different then their original food. after about a week on this i slowly incorporated solid food mixed in with the soft, eventually leading back to all solid food. i dont know if this will work for you but it did for me and i havent had the same problem since GOOD LUCK ill keep your baby in my prayers!!! |

Do you feed any people foods? That might stimulate her appetite. Boiled chicken, rice, bit of hamburger...
