| No, you are NOT a bad mother! I don't let Archie chew anything animal-based either, for a couple of reasons: 1) He tends to get choked easily -- I don't even give him chunks of carrot anymore, just slivers; 2) I somehow can't seperate today's chews from the old rawhide chews my dogs had in the past that my vet said were bad for them. 3) Archie is about as close to being a vegetarian as a dog can be -- he prefers fruits and vegetables as treats and also Mother Hubbard natural biscuits. He also loves a his NYlabone dental chew bone that I give him and has had no problems with it (though I order them in bulk and throw them out when he begins to destroy them so he won't get choked on loose pieces). He doesn't seem to miss the other "stuff."
