| Layla does that too.. i tend to tell her to stop and then i'll scratch her face for her...he might have allergies.. we are new to allergies and whatever was out about two weeks ago (pollen.. ragweed?) REALLY bothered Layla.. she chewed her paws... her eyes watered... she scratched her face... she was so upset and uncomfortable. I was leery to take her to the vet as he is quick to medicate so instead i gave her 1ml (per 5 lbs of dog) of benadryl... children's liquid dye free... see if he does this much longer or if it progresses to scratching anywhere else. |

| I'd try the benadryl too. It usually works well.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Marcel has been doing this more (again) lately too - I don't know if it's allergies or what. I'm taking him to the vet Sat. just to rule out an eye infection. He's teething like mad, so I think this may be making his eyes water more too....argh! Poor little fella.

| Could it be Marcel's teeth need cleaning? Sometimes they paw at their face, rub into the carpet when their toofies are aching. Good luck.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Interesting. Maybe it is bc his teeth are bothering him - I'll see if he'll ALLOW me to clean them. LOL.

| i have had a couple of puppies doing this to the sides of their faces. On inspection, I found out they were teething and had loose teeth they were trying to get out. usually the teeth were just hanging there so i pulled them on out. Once out, the pawing stopped. |
