| When to switch from puppy to adult? At what age are you supposed to switch from puppy food to adult food. Mickey is 7 months now. I feed him Innova Puppy (dry kibbles). The chart on the back goes up to 12 months. Also, when you switch do you do a gradual switch, or just switch over? I will more than likely stick with Innova... he has been on this since he was about 2 1/2 months, and does well... he is very strong and healthy. Or is it better to switch up food and diet every now and then? Thanks for your help!!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | They're considered "adults" around 8 mths. old - so you could start switching btwn 8-10 mths. old. Like any food switch, do it gradually to avoid tummy issues - no need to do it suddenly.

Start by mixing 1 part new food to 3 parts existing food. After 7-10 days (and if no upset tummy), mix 1/2 new food to 1/2 old food. 7-10 more days, do 3 parts new to 1 part old, and after 7-10 more, you're good to go on the new food. If your dog's tummy gets upset, go back a phase for a few days, and then start introducing more of the new food after his tummy agrees with it better. I've never had a problem switching foods on my dogs doing it this way.

| Thanks! Since I have you "on the line" I'm planning to switch to Canidae from Royal Canine. Is there a specific bag I should get? Thanks for your help!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Oh and if your switching to Canidea, the all life stages is for every age. It would not matter when you do it as its for every stage. I di this becasue Diggy is a pup and Bella full grown too hard to keep them out of each others food.

| My vet said I can switch to adult food now. (she is 11 month) But I am doing half & half now since I want Momiji to gain weight!! She is a picky eater.... I've tried 6 or 7 different dog food but she doesn't like any of them..... She eats Royal Canine a bit so I am feeding her that and boiled chicken on the weekend!!! |

| Avery is 4months old and has been on Candiae All Stages since about 2.5 months or so.. its meant for all dogs->puppy through adult, senior, etc. So if you are switching to this food you can do it whenever.. Avery loves it!!
