| change in behavior I was just wondering if someone could answer my question about a behavior change. My almost 3yr old bella was very hyper and loved to play. My husband was always talking about how he could not wait for her to calm down. About a month ago she had a stomach thing and has since recovered, but she has also mellowed quite a bit. She always wanted to play before and now she would just rather sit in the chair. She still has the occasional burst of energy and play, but not like before. She is also spending more time with my husband that myself(this is very rare). Should I be worried or do you think my husbands wish has finally come true. |

| I would check with the vet to make sure everything is clear health-wise and if it is then your hubby's wish has probably just finally come true!!!!!!!!! My parents' yorkie used to be REAAALY hyper but she really mellowed out and now just lays around. She is 8 years old now and I cannot remember at what age she started mellowing. But I think it's just part of growing older! |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I agree I would check with your vet to double check on her health...but my two girls will be 3 this year and we have notice a big change in their behavior over the past 6 months. Sailor has really calmed down...she loves to just lay around the house alot more, she does still LOVE to play fetch with her ball outside but during the day she would rather just lay around and be lazy. Magic has calmed down but not as much, she still acts like a puppy alot of the time but her overall behavior has calmed down and you can tell she is getting older. But I am loving this stage, they are still playful but we want to watch TV they are okay with laying down on the couch with you. Again, I would say that your husband's wish is finally coming true but if you are really concerned call your vet and just ask.
