| how many times a day do you feed? I used to free feed Layla when she ate kibble and she was such a bad eater..picked here and there..... never ate much.. now that i home cook she was eating 3x a day but i've noticed she is gaining weight. Layla's kibble is still available so today i decided to let her use that to tell me she was hungry. I fed her at 11 am today - about 2-3 tsps of homecooked mixture and she hasn't seemed hungry since. so how often do you feed your dogs? Layla is 16 months and 5.5 lbs. if you have the time can you tell me how much you feed and how big your pup is! thanks!! Last edited by marcerella02; 07-11-2007 at 01:02 PM. |

| I used to free feed Ferdinand too. But he's been having potty training issues since his neuter (he used to be pretty much potty trained, now he has regressed). that said, I started feeding him twice a day. He gets 1/4 cup of Chicken Soup kibble for adults at 7:30am, and 1/4 cup of Chicken Soup again at around 6pm. He usually doesn't finish his breakfast, he just snacks on it all day. Then at dinner when I'm making a salad, I cut up some vegetables for him too - but only a couple of tablespoons of vegetables if I had to guess. He is 15 months old and weighs 4 lbs.

| I feed Livi 1/4 cup of wet Canidae about 9am and I leave out dry Canidae all day. She typically eats about 1/4 cup of the dry kibble. She is 16 weeks old and weighs 3.5lbs. Hope this helped some~ Tammy Last edited by TammyJM; 07-11-2007 at 01:22 PM. |

| I feed twice a day, 9AM and 5:30 PM. They each get 1/4 cup for each meal, 1/2 cup daily total. They're big boys (9and 13 lbs), but I keep a close eye on their weight. They get a snack around 2:30. My vet said both their weights are perfect so I'm keeping to this schedule. Hope this helps.

| I feed Miko and Emma 3-4 small meals per day. Miko is 11lbs and Emma is just under 4 lbs. I've adjusted how much to feed them according to how much they want.

| I feed twice a day morning and evening, 1/3 cup each serving of kibbles and add a small amount of either Chicken, steak or salmon. Sometimes I also use the rolls of beef made by Natural Balance and grate it for alittle something extra. Toby is 6.5 lbs at 20 months and Kallie is 10 lbs. at 5 years old.

| We free fed because we want Zoe to gain weight, she's a bit on the skinny side. I think she eats about 3 times/day on average. |
