What city is that? The reason I asked is that another member's vet told her that dogs who bite someone and don't have the rabies vaccine are put to sleep, but I looked it up and he was wrong. They are quaratined in their home for 10 days to 6 months in most cases, but not put to sleep. Who told you this about your city? I would call the health department or look it up on the internet. I would be happy to do it if you post the city. I dislike vets who say this and it is not true!

Wow. I just want to say thank you for all this information.
I am definitely going to do some research. I otherwise would've blindly followed my vet's instructions.

I live outside the city limits and there is no law in the county requiring rabies here. I always get my dogs vaccinated, but as my little one's get old I get their other shots, but I don't give them rabies.
