I gave my Roxy a Capstar tablet. Worked wonders on fleas but she seemed to sleep alot afterwards. Didn't know if she was really tired from biting fleas or if the Capstar made her sleepy. Did it have any affect on your yorkie? Thanks

It didn't have any effect on Sadie....but it worked wonders with the fleas!

Thank you for replying. Roxy must have just been so tired from biting and scratching that she was getting caught up on her sleep. She is a new addition to our family. First time for a yorkie. She is 9 mos. old. I think we have a lot to learn as I read more and more threads. I'm sure I will be asking alot more questions as time goes by.

I don't know how new it is. I do get it from my vet (I think it is prescribed...don't know if you can get it w/o prescription or not). A month or so ago, I called my vet & was telling them that I was having trouble with fleas even though I was using Frontline, I was still finding them on her. Turns out the Frontline is working, but they still get on her outside & then have to bite for the Frontline to kill them. So if I notice several of them on her, I'll go get a Capstar & it kills them. My vets office is good about it...I just tell them that I need another one & they let me get it.

i get capstar at an animal health store. it's about $20 for 6 tablets.
