| How old Should I Wait for his Testicles to Drop??? HELP I am kinda new so nice to meet all of you. I have my first yorkie puppy and everything is perfect about him (show/breed) standards except for one MAJOR thing. He has no testicles. !!!! He is the perfect little baby and first and foremost he is my pet before he is for breeding. Just a little backround on TJ.... he is 22 weeks old and 2ibs 5 oz. The vet says he has no sign of testicles. I know they are tucked up there somewhere. My question to all the proffesionals out there, how long should i wait before i make the decision to do surgery? Are they "cooked" by now or should I hold out and wait. and if so how long should i wait? I love my little baby and I just want him to grow up healthy. I had a friend get her dog fixed at 2 years old and it made him gain crazy amounts of weight which is very unhealthy. please help and thank you

| I have heard it can be up to a year for them to drop. In all of our puppies we have had already had little bumps there and you can feel them when they went home. They leave our house anywhere from 12 weeks up to around 16 weeks. If they are tucked up an no chance of dropping then it's better to fix him as that can cause cancer later in life. A dog will not gain weight just from getting fixed - it's from many other reasons - #1 table scraps.

| the vet nor i can not feel them at all does that mean there is no chance and i should go ahead and get him fixed or wait becuase there can still be a chance even with not being able to feel them yet. can you tell how irritating this is to me like you said about the cancer that is what i am worried about.

| There is no need to neuter him at this age you can wait till he is 6 to 8 months and see if anything changes, if no signs of testicles then , it is best he is neutered. I have known of testicles dropping as late as 1 year of age. As far as gaining weight , if you are not careful with his food intake he may gain weight, you just have to keep a close eye on it for him. |

| Turbo's finally dropped about a month ago... he is 10 months old. I would give him some more time. Also, turbo felt like he had nothing for the longest time. I would give the baby some time. |
