I have read all of the posts and it is quite evident that there are mixed views on this issue. My initial reason for searching for info on frontline plus was to see if anyone had ever ordered frontline plus and or heart guard online. If so did you save $$ and did you feel that the meds were the same as those from the vets office or that it was made in another country with fake packaging? Unfortunately I have no choice in treating my yard, home and pets. We live in the south and are surrounded by neighbors with multiple animals as well ferral (sp?) cats that probably all have fleas. I will try the rosemary drops mixed in distilled water as a spray. How well does the citronella, lavender, and tea tree oils mixed with water work? What is the mixture ratio? I was also wondering if these sprays repel ticks as well as fleas? I agree that it will be much better for my little ones than chemicals. What was it that you use in your home? I have very little carpet and the carpet that I do have is upstairs which is really closed off now that my son has left home. Our living area is mostly hard wood floors. Any words of wisdom as to what to use to treat the yard?

to answer your first question, i have NOT ordered any flea meds online. i can buy them in singles from my vet. your 2nd question: home depot/lowe's should have some stuff in the fertilizer area that is for bugs. it comes in a red bag (kinda shiny). you spread it on your lawn like a fertilizer (you can even mix the 2 to save time). it kills fleas, ticks, roaches, etc. i think it's maybe $10 for the small bag. hope that helps.

Learning a lot through this post. Thank you all so much for advice and opinions. Here is the link for Minksheen. I got my sample in the mail. I ordered it on their phone last week, it came yesterday. Says you use it "once a week" to repel fleas. http://www.touchofmink.com/CurrentSpecials.asp I know on some of this, I need to go to the back room, and print it. I have a bad memory. I have ceramic through most of my home. Ditched the carpet a few months back. Only 1 room is wood floor, and the other is tile. One bedroom (guest room that stays closed up all the time) has carpet. Again, thank you all so much for the replies. I will be printing them all for future use.

Lots of great advice on the dogs and home on this thread. I'd rather use something natural than any kinda chemicals. Now......is there anything NATURAL, I can treat the yard with that won't hurt my babies? They both will chew grass from time to time. I don't want to put anything out that will harm them. Thanks again for all the great suggestions.
