| Suture Reaction after 4 months??? Hi: I was rubbing the tummy of my 11 month old Yorkie/Bichon mix Abbie the other day and noticed a lump that wasn't there before. She didn't react with any pain, she doesn't notice at all. I called the vets office the next day and made the soonest appointment I could. My Vet wasn't in, but another Vet was. (I really love my vet, but I wanted her seen asap so saw who was there.). Anyhow, he seems to think it is Suture Reaction from her spaying which was done in February. He doesn't seem to think 4 months is too long ago. (I do, am I wrong?) I was afraid it was a hernia, but he ruled that out. He tried to drain it in case it was a cyst, it wasn't. So we are watching it, and I will return if it changes. Abbie doesn't experience any pain with it. It is right next to the incision line where her spaying was done and is about the size of a marble. There is no redness or drainage. Does anyone else think 4 months ago is too long ago for spaying to have suture reaction? Has anyone else had this occur on their baby? |

| Hmmm...My maltese Emma was spayed at the beginning of January and she had a bump also...I took her to the vet in March thinking it was a hernia as well and they said that it was probably a reaction to the sutures and that if it was still there in six months, to bring her back so they could fix it. Anyway, the bump finally went away just recently.
