| Illness Sorry to alarm you with my title but Coco is not sick. I was just wondering if you all use health insurance for your cuties? If so what kind do you all use? I want to get health insurance for Coco to help keep costs down in case of an accident or health issue. What do you think??

Tomorrow Bella has an EKG which is $195 plus $26 hospital stay charge for 6 hrs and that is covered. They are great for illness but not for routine care - thre routine care plan doesn't really pay out much

| I have insurance for my lab and the two little ones, i shopped around for a while till i found what i was looking for, same as Nemon said, ours also doesnt cover routine check ups and vaccinations, but other treatment, xrays and medications, accidents and surgery's are covered. Vet bills can add up fast and i like the comfortable feeling of being safe, if u consider what u pay anually on insurance it can sometimes be less then what one vet bill can come to.

| We have the plan that is offered through Banfield. It was a one time $99.00 sign on fee and then we pay $19.95 per month for the first year. It covers all office visits, shots, normal tests and his neuter plus we get a % off of anything that isn't covered like meds. We also have a standing credit line for anything major that we don't need to pay on unless we use it. I am definitely happy I decided to go with the above choices as 3 days after Teddy came to us he got very sick there were times he was being seen everyday so the plan paid for itself in the first week. I joke to people that my dog has better health care than I do...

| I've been wanting forever to get insurance for all three of my babies.. they've all been to the vet and it has costed me a fortune.. ... i've heard a lot of good things and bad things with banfield and VPI... but i mean not everyone will have a great experience with a company i'm guessing. I was just wondering for those that have VPI, what plan do you have, and is there a website? thank you! |

| I have Teddy I believe on what they call the basic plan. It was the better of the 2 they offered...The reasoning behind that was it included his neuter in that plan. We have had pretty good results with the insurance that Banfield offers. There have been a few issues that have come up for instance my vet told me that he must be neutered before he is 6 months old for the plan to cover it. Hmmmmm......I don't like that because he has barely begun losing his baby teeth and I know from these boards that they like to pull the remaining teeth at the same time as they neuter in most cases. I just don't understand the rush on their part or the cut off of benefits? One of the things I do like the most is that if anything ever comes up being he is on the plan they will always fit him in and see him almost immediately. I could have him seen every day if I would like as there is no limit to the office visits. Actually in the beginning when he was a very sick little boy he was seen daily. They also keep a running tally of what your saving are and to date I have saved almost $600.00 which averages out to about $200 per month! I am sure the service varies from area to area but in our case I am glad that I purchased it. I am not aware of a web sight but I have another vet appointment on Friday and I will ask and forward it if I get the information.

We have the Superior plan plus Routine Care Coverage and vavinnations, but the vaccinnations are 1 time per year and not helpful for puppy ones since I went for so many (plus they split her Lyme into 2 etc) I am hoping they pay for most of the visit yesterday for EKG as it's per diagnosis and heres allowed for $315 for diagnostic purposes.
