| Hi people, the test results came back today, Roxy has a liver problem, the vet could not tell my friend exactly what the problem is, she was talking about a "short connection" in the liver and she has to take Roxy to the universtity veterinairy hospital on friday for an ammonia test, echo, and some other few to check what exactly is wrong with her. For now she gave her Nutrical to take, NOW my question rises, WHY didnt she give Roxy Nutrical from the start? why give her all the other stuff that never took affect?! ( im angry to say the least! ) i didnt know Nutrical was available in Holland so i asked him yesterday when i was there if he knew what Nutrical was, ( the only way i got to know the product is from this board) and he said yes! If i knew back then that it was a known product here i would have gotten it for her from the start!! I hope and pray it all works out with Roxy, i dont know what we would do without her!! We go to the same vet, but after this episode im starting to doubt him, what do u guys think?

| Please ask your friend to try feeding Roxy some meatloaf! Give her some Mighty Dog lamb&rice...a plain hamburger from McDonald's...anything to put some weight on her... I will keep Roxy in my prayers. I am having a health crisis with my 10 year old Yorkie and know how upsetting it is to see our sweet friends in trouble. |

| baby food meat and enrgygel for pups and dogs. its really good for yorkies.. because of their suger dropping so easy because they are so small.. and it helps them to get hungry and eat.. I had to feed it to my maggie when she was ill for awhile.. the vet suggested it.. oh.. i also would warm up the babyfood just enough to take the chill off.. and feed it to her with a spoon.. she actually did very well with it.. she is my prayers.. we will just believe together that God will heal her.. and she will get better.. | Hi Chelsey, I'm so sorry to hear about your baby! I hope everything works out! I just wanted to share some info with you that I learned because my yorkie also has a liver condition. If it's a liver shunt, protein is VERY harmful, so the chicken can actually hurt little Roxy without you knowing. Protein turns into ammonia and dogs who have certain liver problems can't process the ammonia, so it can send them into seizures. Please keep us posted on Roxy's condition and the results of the tests. I am by no means an expert on this topic, but I have a lot of experience with it, so if you have any questions, please ask. You and Roxy are in our thoughts and prayers! |

| I forgot to mention that we were also having trouble getting our yorkie to eat until the vet prescribed a special food for his liver. It's Royal Canin Hepatic LS 14 veterinary diet, and ever since we started feeding him this, he has really been eating like he is supposed to. I think they know what their bodies need because he wouldn't eat before we started him on this diet. He is also taking denosyl (a liver supplement) and lactulose(to help with constipation). |

| Well, at least you have a starting point and she can get some help. Please keep us posted. It is odd that the vet never gave her nutical before but you live and learn I guess. |
