| They didn't have nutritional yeast at Vitamin World, only brewer's yeast, and yes there's a difference, but brewer's yeast is good too.

| We recently had a cat diagnosed with kidney failure. She had eaten 2 pouches of the recalled foods, and it's up for debate how much that added to the matter. Holistic vet says no Advantage for the cat. She uses this mixture on her dog to repel fleas: fill spray bottle with half water, half vinegar and leave a little room for these essential oils: 1 teaspoon each of: lavender peppermint citronella spearmint lemongrass Always BE SURE to shake well before spraying directly on pet. She sprays it on each time before going outside. I spray it on the cat once each day before her daily "outside" time. I don't know how effective this is, we have only been using it for one week. Thanks for posting. I'm actually getting a cat soon, so it's good to know of something that I can use on both my dogs and cat.

| There are some good shampoos/conditioners out there that has the natural flea deterent...eg Sheapet has citronella and rosemary to deter fleas. Minksheen has ingredients like cedar and citronella oil that deters fleas. |

| I found this in a book today. Homemade Flea Spray 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 1 cup Avon's Skin-So-Soft 1 cup water 1/8 teaspoon oil of cintronella (optional) Rub into coat to repel fleas and mosquitoes. Homemade Flea Trap you'll need a night light, a baking pan filled with water, and a electrical outlet in the flea-ridden area of your home. Plug in the night light and place the pan beneath it. The fleas will be attracted to the light and heat. When they jump at the light, they will fall into the water and drown. the book also suggests the following: Change the bag in your vacuum cleaner after every use or vacuum up flea powder into the bag to stop flea breeding. Sprinkle 20 Mule Team Borax (from the detergent section of the grocery store) on your carpets and rugs. (always test a section first to make sure it will not damage the rug) In the yard spray a solution of borax and water in all flea infested areas. discontinue use if your dog licks the borax treated plants. do not use on grass unless you test an area first. Commercial: A company known as Fleabusters operates in many cities in the US. They will come into your home and use a nonpesticide formula to control fleas. (this book is from 1994, so I'm not sure they are still around but....)
