| My vet didn't recommend Revolution...but I thought it was for ticks....something about it doesn't work on all the ticks (I guess there are several different ones)...and it didn't work on one of the ticks in my area. Anyway, we have tried Frontline Plus and K9 Advantix. I liked Advantix because it worked against misquitoes too, Frontline Plus, doesn't. BUT, I didn't think Advantix worked well against the ticks in our area, so the vet told me to try Frontline Plus...we just started using it. There are also to topical sprays on the market now too - they are cheaper than the drops. I believe that Frontline comes in a spray and Orivtol (sp) is always a good one that my vet recommended for my big dogs. For heartworms....we use Interceptor because that is what my vet carries...it is a tiny once a month pill that hides easily in treats, chicken, cheese, wet food, etc. When we had our Shih-tzu years ago, we used Heartguard which is a soft chewy treat like medicine and it did well. I am not sure the difference between these two, but I can only get Interceptor because my vet doesn't carry the Heartguard.

| Personally I like Interceptor and I use advanage for fleas. I buy the largest lb weight in advanage and measure out what I need (dosage given by Vet) in a syringe without a needle. A tube will run my 7 dogs all year long. Big saving!!! |

| My vet told me that the revolution does not protect against deer tick that cause lyme disease, but he said since they was inside dogs that should be ok. I did not put my outside dogs on revolution because they go into the woods and the creek. He said that revolution protected against intestinal worms too, except for whip worms. I only started using it this month so I don't know how well it works yet, but I have not seen any fleas or ticks on Hannah and Bentley and they play outside in the yard alot. |

| Thanks for that info. Our vet still doesn't recommend Revolution and we won't use it even if we could, I guess, because we have tons of deer that come in the yard...plus, three big dogs that roams our land....I am just afraid.......YUCK! Plus, we take Mojo camping, canoeing, etc a lot, so he is out in the "elements" a lot, even though he is a house dog..... I hope it works well for you all though.

| I use Revolution and so far have had great results. It protects against fleas AND heartworms so you don't have to give 2 separate medications for each...just the one. I also like it because it is easier on the wallet than buying 2 separate medications. |

| We don't use any chemicals on Sydney. He doesn't go out much so an all natural repellant works for us. |
