Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Dolliedae Weight At 15 Weeks Today???? DollieDae seems to be real healthy and doing real good, she's very energetic, we had visit with the vet today and she weighs 1.9 now, he seems concerned cause she has hardly gotten any bigger or weight gain since the last visit three weeks ago today. Our Vet said she is a tiny, he said if she continues from now to next visit in this growth pattern that he will need to do blood work Has anyone experienced a slow growth and weight gain with their baby? She eats real good and to me she appears very healthy. It took us so long to find another I just pray that all is okay with her. I am thankful that our Vet is conscientious as he would only give her shots sparingly and spread apart, because he said of her size. I know without a doubt that the Lord led us to her, so we are believing that she was definately meant for us to have. Baby Blessing loves her and she is like a little mommie to her, so cute to watch them together. Hope each and all are having a nice day. Patti and Jack, Baby Blessing and DollieDae |

| Hannah only gained 6 oz the first 6 weeks we had her and then she gained some weight (a little). When we got her at 11 weeks old she weighed 2 lbs and 6 weeks later she weighed 2.6 lbs. She is now 7 months old and weighs 4.2 lbs. She has only gained 1 oz in the past 6 weeks. |

| It sounds like you have a wonderful vet!! It sounds like he really pays attention to everything. If she hasn't grown by her next visit and the vet feels bloodwork or a bile acid test is necessary, then it's better safe than sorry. I'm sure she's fine though!!

| It happen to chelsea when she was 13 weeks and 15 weeks. Her weight flactuates 0.3 lbs. Make sure your vet uses the same scale and try to weight her at the same time (before meal preferably). In my case it turns out that scales in the vet office were not the same and my pup was keep moving creating the difference. You can aslo use the crate when weight the pup. Different scales repsond to different movement of the pup. Well this was my experience and it made me nervous at that time. If she looks healthy I won't worry that much. |

Our Vet insisted on rechecking her weight himself and they had several scales. I think he is being xtra cautious but that's okay by me He also asked us to wait in the parking lot with her for half hour after the shots, in case she had reaction. (We always wait in the vehicle till they call us in to be seen I just don't like taking chance, and today there was several really sick dogs in the office How old is Chelsea now? I think all will be fine with DollieDae, maybe she is just going to be a tiny one. Isn't it something how quick they are to learn what the office of a vet is? She looked like she remembered the last time we was there. Patti and Jack | |

| When I first got Izzie she weighed 2.2 pounds. 3 weeks later, she still weighed 2.2 pounds. I was so nervous at the time, but she has only gained 1pound in 3 months. Today, she weighs 3.2 pounds and she's as healthy as can be!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My Marcel is 21 weeks and weighs 1.8 pounds - he weighed 1.4 when we got him, so he's gaining about an oz. a week. He will be tiny. BUT, when I got him, I took him off Eukanuba immediately, leave Canidae out for grazing. Then, when I started home cooking for him - that's when his body started putting on some weight. He gets a morning meal, a 4pm meal, a 7pm meal and then something around 9pm to get him through the night. I think it's really important that these tinies are eating every 3-4 hours - so perhaps 4 meals in a 16 hour day. So, I figure with his 4 real-food meals and occ. grazing - he is set up for his greatest growth potential. What are you feeding?

| Exactly how many ounces did your furbaby gain in the past 3 weeks? You said your furbaby weighs 1.9 now. What did she weigh 3 weeks ago? Mine has been gaining 2 oz per week and I think he is at least 2 lbs already at almost 15 weeks old! My vet said at least 2 oz per week and when he gained that she still was not too thrilled because she was hoping he'd gain some more. If your girl is eating on her well and is not a picky eater, I would not worry so much. Is 1.9 = 1 lb and 9 oz or does it mean 1 lb and 14 oz ?? Genie Cookie Lola Angel |
