| bully sticks/flossies for pups? Is it safe to give bully sticks or flossies to puppies? Tia is 5 months old, quite the chewer, and has yet to lose her baby teeth. I think someone told me once that they shouldn't have them until their adult teeth are in...but what is your opinion?

| We have given bully sticks to Sydney since he was about 3 months old. Just made sure you monitor them while they're chewing. |

| I have given them to my pups since they were 3-4 months old. They seem to love them. Just keep an eye on them. Check out www.beyondspoiled.com -- she has a small pkg of 2 you can get for a song -- and 20% right now! Hers do not smell bad.

| I can't come up with any reason not to give them to a puppy. My dogs are adults and they love Flossies and they work great to clean teeth. A couple CAUTIONS though: only give them for an hour or so, supervised, then take them away. They can quickly become a choking hazzard. Also, buy the jumbo flossies or the biggest ones you can find, even for a tiny Yorkie. My Yorkies can go through a small one in minutes. That's too much undigestible stuff in their tummies. The jumbos last for a week (an hour a night). I worry about bacteria, so I keep the half-chewed ones in the fridge, then nuke for a 10 seconds or so to kill bacteria before I give them back to them.

| Chatties pups Scarlett O'Hairy and Mr. GreenJeans have been gnawing on bullysticks from eddieb260 since they were about 4 weeks old and had no teeth. No problems here. |
