| Did anyone filed claim with VPI about luxating patella??? Did anyone of my fallow yorkie lovers ever had to file claim for LP with VPI insurance? I know that LP might be hereditary and they might refuse paying for it since it is pre-existing cond., but lilos happened by running down the stairs. So does it count as an injury?

| I just called VPI, and they told me that LP is not covered also my breeder said that she will not help me with any of the bills It really sucks!!! I called Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Virginia Tech and they said that it will cost up to $1500 for both knees. This is def. better than the surgeon that I went to 2 weeks ago, that quoted me for $2500. But I'll have to drive to VATech for 4.5 hours. twice, once for consult annd second time for surgery. This is still a lot of money !!!

| Sorry I can't help too much. I don't have pet insurance. But for Roxy's LP surgery they did both legs at the same time. It cost just under $3000 for both legs (including pre-op stuff, bloodwork, x-rays, etc...) This is Long Island. I also got a quote from another place that was about $3000 per leg |

| Oh WOW that is really expensive. I just took Abigail and Lola to a new vet and found out that Lola is going to have to have LP surgery. They quoted me about $650 per knee and about 214 for xrays and pre-surgery stuff. I am so nervous about having it done. I didn't get to talk to the vet that will be doing it, but Lola is soo tiny he will probably not do them at the same time and she has to by spayed. I don't know yet if they will do that when one of knees is being done yet. I have to talk to the vet.

| Oh I just realized you are in VA too. I don't know how far Blacksburg is from you. I live in the southern part of VA so when you get out west I get confused on whats where. I have a idea where McLean is, but if its really far from you too I can give you the number to vet I saw Friday they were soo nice.
