| My baby is sick I am just beside myself with worry. My little one is 6.5 months, just under 4 pounds. On Sunday night she started throwing up...Monday it was diarrhea on top of the vomitting. We took her to the vet around 11:30 last night...they gave her some fluids and some meds and we went home...this morning she seemed much better. I gave her the medicine and within a half hour she threw it up. I took her back into the vet and they're keeping her there on IV fluids and antibiotics for 24 hours. It was so hard to leave her there, I'm so worried. She looked so scared. I just want my baby back...happy and playful like she usually is. They are running tests to determine if it is viral, bacterial or if there is some type of obstruction.... Until she's happy and home I don't know how I'll cope. I'm probably more upset then she is. I just hope she is comfortably napping at the hospital. The vet is supposed to call this afternoon with the results of her test. They said we could go visit her tonight but I wonder if that will make it worse for her by going to see her and leaving her there again? |

| We just went through the same thing with our baby. He ended up having parvo. Out vet gave us the option of visiting him, but said that it could cause him more stress when we leave. I will pray for your baby! I know how heart breaking it is to feel so helpless! |

| Hi - thanks for you support. How did you baby get sick? How long did the vet keep him her? I just hope that she is ready to come home tomorrow. Did you end up visiting him? |

| I don't have any advice, but want you to know that I will say a prayer for Brady. (Love the name!) It sounds like you've taken him to a good vet and he'll get the care he needs. It's just like having a baby, you feel so helpless. I hope all goes well and that he is home very soon.

| We will pray for your baby, we went through a similiar thing with Bella as she became dehydrated and had to have fluids put into her, but her blood tests came back that her white blood cell count was off due to the kennel cough infection she had. It's hard and sad to see them like that but it's a good thing she is getting what she needs from the vet.

| Ohhh, I totally feel for you right now! We just went through the EXACT same thing! They kept her overnight and she couldnt keep food down, they thought it was an obstruction and they did exploratory surgery. She didn't have anything inside her, she just had a parasite. They sent her home with different meds and she got better right away. I was a mess tho when they said they had to do surgery. They took x-rays and she was full of gas and they assumed there was something stuck in there, they said it would be better to open her up and make sure because we could lose her. I need her just as much as she needs me right now, and I was a wreck. Have you been taking her outside and meeting other dogs? Thats what I did, and thats how she caught the parasite, it could definitly be that. Its good shes at the vet, make sure they do an ultrasound to see if there is a blockage. I wish you the best. Your in my thoughts and prayers. |
