| When is vomiting serious? Poor Abbie threw up at least 10 times last night. It started after I fed her dinner of Canidae. Now I added to that a tablespoon of Campbells Soup beef with vegetables and barley because it's a new food for her and I'm having a tough time getting her to eat it. I'm having to hand feed her piece by piece. She threw it all up shortly after and then retched and retched until there was nothing left but bile and foam. After a while she calmed down but I didn't want her to go without food all night and thought maybe a bit of turkey would stay down. So I gave her that and she started again! So I went to look at the soup and guess what? Wheat gluten! Is it possible? Abbie is so thin she has no reserves if she gets sick. How do I know when it's just a tummy upset and when it's serious? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

| If she is always throwing up , it might be a good idea to let her stomach relax. It might be a very good idea to see your vet . |

| She's not always throwing up. She'll throw up occasionally but last night it was just over and over again. Do you really think it could be serious?

| Sorry for the " always " . I think you should see your vet to be reassured . |

| Although it is your first reaction to try to get her to eat something since she has thrown it all up, let her stomach relax. If her tummy is that upset, she will bring up anything you give her. |

| I would take her to the vet! To throw up that many times would make me wonder! The yellow bile means there is nothing in the stomach and she is throwing up stomach bile. If this keeps up she may become dehydrated. Better safe than sorry. I do hope she is better today. |

| Thanks everyone Abbie didn't eat hardly at all yesterday, but was otherwise acting as she usually does. Today she's eating and seems to feel fine. I know I sometimes jump the gun but I was just worried because she's so thin anyway.

| I also have a yorkie that throws up at least 1 time a week. She is healthy and isn't underweight. After she throws up she wants to eat and she keeps it down. I don't understand why, but I have had to to the Vet and she is fine. I have 2 yorkies and I would never want anything to happen to either one so I know where you are coming from. |
