| What other dog food to feed my baby boy yorkie? My puppy is the pickiest eater ever!! My baby is 4 months almost 5 now. and since we had him, the vet recommended Science Diet. At first, he was eating it. I did not allow any table scrap, but once a while my mother would drop a little piece of chicken or something for him. We try to make him eat his food, so we mix little pieces of chicken, ham, cheese, and i would soak the SD food. Now, he wont even go near his food unless there is some new "flavor" for him. Its been 2 days and i;ve been keeping a close watch on him. I wont let him near my mom or whoever would feed him table scrap. I would leave his food out and, he would stif it, but he wont eat!! I want to know what does everyone esle feed their yorkie? |

| If you don't want to cook for your baby, you could try a natural, healthy food that is for all life stages like Merricks, Canidae, or something like that... www.dogfoodanalysis.com has reviews on lots of foods. The 4 and 5 star foods are recommended for yorkies. The 6 star foods are said to be too high in protein for yorkies... We feed our almost 10 month old maltese Merrick Grammy's Pot Pie, but we're starting to home cook a bit instead. I think 18-24% protein is what is recommended for yorkies...But I prefer to go with the lower end of that scale.

| fussy too my dog Willis is such a fussy eater too. He always has been, although he seemed to have more of an appetite after he was castrated. he turns his nose up all the time, i have to try different foods regularly. the problem I am having now is that my other dog Holly has to have senior food, otherwise awful bowel problems, and trying to feed seperate food can be a nightmare, they always want what the other has got. |

| Here is a list of some premium foods that others feed on here. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76518 You need to do your own research to decide what you think is best and/or your dog would like. I suggest contacting the companies for free samples and take it from there. Also, once you have narrowed the list down to a few foods.......use the search button above and type it in. You will get an overwhelming amount of information as this question and similar ones get asked at least every other day Good luck

| Real food is the best way to go, but not table scraps. They should not eat spicy, salty foods, gravys and such. Think of it as feeding a toddler. Bland real food. |
