Any homemade Kibble recipes?

I really couldn't pick one and call it the best. They do look pretty good and I like the fact that a pet nutritionist was involved with the recipes...anyone can make food to feed their dog but making one that has everything your dog needs is different. I plan to try several of the recipes and find one that my boys enjoy.

All homemade dog food recipes should be run over with a vet nutritionist and a dog will need a supplement even with that recipe.

Yes, that's a given - all dogs nutritional requirements will vary depending on their age, weight, current health status, nutritional needs... This recipe was evaluated for my yorks by my vet.

I have not made it yet, but plan to very soon. I'll be bringing my baby home on Saturday and she will be just seven weeks old. I think it will be a little soon for her to try this!

Aww poor puppy should still be with it's mom until 12 weeks. Also needs to be on puppy food.

Oh, she IS on puppy food!! She will be eight weeks when I pick her up on Saturday. The breeder will be sending a few days supply of the food she is currently eating and I will continue this until she is ready to transition. Believe me! I plan to do everything right with my little girl. Next week we will visit a few local, reputable vets and decide on which one will be the best fit for Bella. I used to work in a pet hospital, so I feel pretty confident in caring for her. The only difference from previous pets is this is my first Small Breed baby, I know their dietary needs are much different.

Home cooking should only been done with a recipe from a vet nutritionist and a supplement or your puppy could have some serious health and growth issues. Smaller dogs are a lot different then bigger dogs one of the biggest things being that they should stay with there moms until 12 weeks because they are still learning from them. When you get a pup to soon you can have bitting issues as well as socialization issues. It really is best for the pup to stay with there mom until 12 weeks. Also a pup should go to a vet within the first 48 hours of getting them.

I understand the need for babies to stay with Mom and litter mates as long as possible. That being said, every pup I've ever adopted from a breeder has been at eight weeks - except one which was at six weeks out of necessity. ALL have done very well, no behavior or socialization problems, no issues from being separated. Since I will be bringing Bella home on Saturday, she won't see the vet until Monday. Not sure about other locations, but here in Paola, Vet offices are not open on Sundays. I worked in a Pet hospital for many years. I worked with trainers who trained the local K9 pups for the police department when I lived in NV. When I was MUCH younger, I was a manager for PetSmart. I don't take chances with the health or well-being of my babies, but I do appreciate your concern.

You said you had bigger dogs not smaller dogs and there is a huge difference. A 8 week bigger dog is different then an 8 weeks smaller dog. The Yorkshire terrier club of America who is the mother club of yorkies states they shoukd not leave there moms until 12 weeks. I don't want this to come out wrong at all but reputable breeders know that and when they don't know that or don't do it then there are probably many other things in there breeding program that aren't reputable. I would make sure you look into pet insurance.
